Last year, everyone was excited about the big networking event in the city. But I decided not to go. And it was a big decision for me! I felt really tired and needed a break, so I took some time off instead of going to the event. While others were busy making connections, I took a step back to think about what I really wanted. The event didn't match my goals, so I chose not to be a part of it. It wasn't about not caring, but about being smart with my choices. When I came back, I felt refreshed and ready. Skipping the big event helped me focus on what really mattered. 📅 Weekly Round-Up: ⭐️ Highlight of the Week: The week's standout moment was definitely my interactions in the Town Centre and Freeman Street. The people I spoke to were overwhelmingly positive about the area and actively supporting the "be part of the positive" initiative. It's uplifting to see such community spirit! 📕 What I'm Reading/Watching/listening to: To be frank, this week has been incredibly hectic for me, so I haven't had the chance to watch, read, or listen to anything. That being said, my work feels so fulfilling that it doesn't really feel like work at all, so I'm more than fine with it. 👩🏼🏫 Learning & Development: This week was all about understanding community perceptions of our town centre—why people visit, what they enjoy, and what could be better. Ashley Hanley from the council guided me through Victoria Street, highlighting buildings that have benefited from recent improvement projects. James Trowsdale also filled me in on the exciting art and cultural events soon to be available for our community. ☕️ Networking & Collaboration: This week has been filled with meetings and forging connections, which are essential aspects of what I do. There are countless fantastic groups out there, and I genuinely believe that by collaborating and backing each other's initiatives, we have the power to make a meaningful impact. 🙋🏼♀️ Personal Reflection: I'm fortunate to earn a living doing work that I'm truly passionate about. My role at 2025 Group provides me with a tangible sense of making a positive impact. I love assisting my The Growth and Accountability Academy clients with their business growth. The opportunities that have come my way are incredible, and I'm deeply grateful to be living my purpose and running a business I love. 👀 Looking Ahead: Next week, I start working with a new client who has just purchased my roadmap to revenue blueprint program. So for the next 12 weeks we will be working together 1-2-1 I have 4 meetings booked next week and will be attending a 2025 group meeting on Tuesday night with lots of town centre businesses. I will be attending the The Growth Community networking on Thursday. 🤔 What didn’t go so well: To be honest, nothing to report it’s been another great week. I always see September as a month of new beginnings, increasing activity, and a renewed sense of purpose. Do you feel like that? And doesn't a rest do you so much good (if you had one). We start to get back into a routine, with children being back at school and back to normal work patterns for many. So why not kick-start this month with some great events? Derbyshire Business Networking has two great events, so far, this September. ✔️The first being a field trip to Cloudbass Limited in Derbyshire at 4.30pm on Tuesday the 19th of September. They have has now grown into the largest independent outside broadcast facilities company in the UK. The company uses industry-leading cutting-edge technology to deliver the very best live events to homes across the world. And for the first time in UHD HDR, they covered the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury this year. There is no charge of this event. Five spaces are available.
