Today, we remember June 19, 1865— the day the last enslaved African Americans in Texas learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. While it marked a pivotal moment in American history, the journey to true equity and justice is still ongoing. Juneteenth reminds us to honor the immense courage and perseverance of those who fought for abolition and to reflect on the systemic racism that still endures today through disparities in health, wealth, education, housing, employment, and more. At D&A, we are committed to advancing racial equity through our work, and we invite you to join us in celebrating Black liberation while fortifying our collective commitment to dismantle racism in all its forms. Let us make Juneteenth more than a celebration, but also a continuation of the struggle for freedom, fairness, and human dignity for all. ✊🏾#Juneteenth #RacialEquity #BlackLiberationMovement #JuneteenthDay
