I’m happy to announce that I virtually attended last week's Bright Network *Women in Leadership 2024* event!
The event was filled with inspiring insights, practical advice, and opportunities to grow personally and professionally. Hearing from accomplished women leaders and engaging in skill-building sessions gave me valuable tools to enhance my leadership abilities and prepare for the upcoming application season.
Thanks especially to employers, including Bank of America, Haleon, and S&P Global, for sharing their expertise. Even as a virtual attendee, I gained meaningful knowledge and perspective.
Some of the key takeaways that resonated with me:
- Temi Nelson, Director and Head of Technology Experience at PwC, offered this insightful advice: “Learn to fall in love with yourself throughout your journey. Believe you deserve to be in that industry and role.”
-Building a solid network of mentors and peers who challenge and support you is essential. Don’t hesitate to ask for feedback — it’s a powerful way to grow.
-Confidence can be developed. If you struggle with it, “Fake it until you make it” — act as if you’re confident until it becomes second nature.
-Another powerful quote from Temi Nelson: “One hand washes the other, you do good, and you receive good.”
I’m also proud to have received a certificate of participation, marking a step forward in my leadership journey. 🎓
Here’s to embracing new opportunities, fostering leadership, and supporting each other. 💼💪
