A federal judge in North Dakota has temporarily blocked a new Biden administration rule aimed at reducing the venting and flaring of natural gas at oil wells. Hey Texans and Louisianans! Did you know that during the Pre-Filing Process at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, FERC environmental staff will “scope” the project? “Scoping” refers to the process that FERC staff uses to gather public input and comments on a project. Public input draws attention to potential issues and whether there is a potential for adverse effects to the human environment from a proposed energy project. Scoping begins with the issuance of a Notice of Scoping. In that notice, FERC staff will open a “scoping” comment period. During this period, the public is asked to submit written comments on the project. Comments can be submitted electronically via FERC Online (eComment and eFiling). The public may also submit comments verbally by attending an in-person “scoping session” that FERC hosts. For the DeLa Express Pipeline Project, FERC will host scoping sessions in the near future! Keep an eye out for dates posted on OPP’s social media channels and in the FERC Docket No. PF24-4-000 in FERC's eLibrary: https://lnkd.in/dy3gWqGh #Texas #Louisiana #DeLaExpress #PF24-4 #Pipeline #NaturalGas #Energy #Environment
