What makes a healthcare organisation successful in your eyes? Most people would say providing the best patient care in the face of the challenges the NHS faces. So that means patients are happy, well informed and crucially, signposted or treated correctly. We can attest the first two are really difficult! But does it mean other things to you? -Improving and advancing education of health professionals -Academic development with research -Extending inter-organisation relationships? -Embracing new technologies or consulting methods? -Providing non-core services? If you're a health professional working in general practice or any other part of the NHS, we'd love to hear your thoughts.

Project Management, MBA candidate with dual concentrations in Project Management and Accounting and Finance. Healthcare consultant with experience in freelance consulting.
The concept and process of health care delivery is simple. what is not simple is health care literacy. Nearly 9 out of 10 Americans do not understand our health care system. Now include those who our first generation or newly immigrated and you have worsening problem. If managed care organizations want to reduce utilization of ER and Hospitalization then they must educate their participants. Improving health care literacy is one of the biggest contributions to negative health care outcomes. Next time you sit their pondering what impact you can have on your patients or your UR discussion I challenge you to think of the patient health care literacy. Reference Nurse Pract.
