#Leaders know what their title is, their position on the org chart, their primary responsibilities and direct reports. But most have not thought about what their true role is, the part they need to play in the operation of their organization. Understanding the role of a leader is the essential first step to establishing priorities and determining where and how you allocate your efforts. "Every day, I hear people screaming, 'Why won’t you give me the freedom to do my job'," said Jeff Anderson, LFGSM President and CEO, based on his years of working with successful leaders throughout different sectors. He often refers to it as a widespread disease - leaders too involved in tasks and decisions that should be fully handled by people on their team. Why aren't leaders focused on the things that only they can do? "Most leaders are involved in their own small, tightly controlled orbit and mistakenly believe they can control things. Business just isn't that simple or predictable," he said. "If you want to combat burnout and push your organization forward and have break-through thinking and drive results... it all starts with the leader thinking deeply about what their role is, and aligning their efforts accordingly." You can explore this topic further with Jeff and Laurence P. Birch in a complimentary live virtual discussion called "Developing Your Leadership Mindset" on Tuesday, June 11. This event will begin at noon CT. Learn more and register here: https://lnkd.in/ga5Earj5 #professionaldevelopment #leadership

This quote encapsulates the essence of true leadership and resonates deeply within the context of executive assistance. EAs play a pivotal role in supporting leaders, not by merely following orders, but by proactively taking care of the myriad details and responsibilities that allow their executives to lead effectively. This perspective shift from mere management to care and support redefines leadership and highlights the integral role of Executive Assistants in fostering a thriving organizational culture. #Leadership #ExecutiveAssistance #SimonSinek #TheKickAssistant

A human-centric approach to CEO leadership Successful leaders constantly reinvent themselves and their organizations. Critical to this reinvention is adopting an “inside out” approach that focuses on the human aspects of leadership. Human-centered leadership gives people a sense of purpose and recognizes their ambitions. That doesn’t just help leaders help their people—it can also boost a company’s bottom line, say my McKinsey & Company colleagues, Senior Partners Dana Maor, Kurt Strovink and Ramesh Srinivasan, who along with Senior Partner Emeritus Hans-Werner Kaas, are authors of "The Leadership Journey" (Portfolio | Penguin Random House) Check out the latest edition of the Five Fifty, where, if you give us five minutes of your time, you might be convinced to dive deeper and spend 50 minutes learning how to lead from the inside out.

Head of Business Development @ The Leadership Consortium (TLC) | Ex-Retail Executive Saks, Nordstrom l Member of Chief l Member of The Wie Suite
Are you fully committed to your team's growth and success? Reflecting on my past experiences in calibration meetings, I often heard terms like "fit," "polished," and "not ready for the next level" tossed around. Yet, rarely did I see leaders taking personal accountability for nurturing their team members' development and providing the necessary resources for them to excel within the organization. This realization drove me to join The Leadership Consortium (TLC). At TLC, we equip leaders to have more command over leading themselves, their teams, and the business. Our approach has not only revolutionized my leadership style but has also impacted over 4,500 leaders across 80 global organizations profoundly. I invite you to discover how our Leaders Program can empower you to take radical responsibility for nurturing future leaders. Join us at our open house on May 9th to learn more. https://lnkd.in/etVheq8X How are you actively supporting your team's development? Let's share insights and grow together.

But how does a leader create a compelling and comprehensive vision for their business? And how can this vision be supported by other top organizational leaders?
