The latest Workforce Confidence survey by LinkedIn reveals that a majority of U.S. workers plan to upskill this year, with Gen Z leading the charge by showing a higher inclination towards attending physical classes to learn new skills compared to older generations. Around 41% of Gen Z workers intend to pursue in-person learning, possibly driven by a desire for the classroom interaction missed during lockdowns. However, online courses remain a popular choice across all generations, with approximately 59% of Gen Z employees planning to upskill virtually. LinkedIn's global head of content strategy, Dan Brodnitz, suggests a combination of online and face-to-face instruction for optimal skill development. With skills-based hiring becoming increasingly important, Gen Z stands to benefit the most from upskilling efforts, as they possess in-demand skills that are valued by hiring managers. https://lnkd.in/gGcQUsmK
