This makes me smile. I've not been with NYL an extremely long time but one of the things I've come to notice is how much the organization is admired in the Insurance industry. This ranking is based on nine "key attributes of reputation" which include innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment value, quality of products and services, and global competitiveness. #NYLProud #NewYorkLife #BeGoodAtLife #fortune
We're proud to once again be recognized on Fortune’s World’s Most Admired Companies list! This recognition is a testament to the many contributions of all our employees. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to being there for our customers when they need us most. #NYLProud

Market president and publisher, Business First; Founding member at Business Journals Leadership Trust
Make sure to read Part 1 today of Joel Stinnett's interview with Jim Rechtin. There are some really great insights here about how his leadership might be different than his predecessor.
I sat down with Humana's Jim Rechtin just days before he is set to take over as CEO of the Louisville-based company. In his first in-depth interview since joining Humana as COO in January, Rechtin talks about his meeting with Mayor Craig Greenberg, what he would like to see happen to the Humana Tower and what his goals are for his first year on the job. Check out part one below and check back tomorrow for part two.
The first interview: Jim Rechtin sits down with Business First days before he takes over as Humana CEO - Louisville Business First

Leadership Consultant for Nonprofit & Service-Driven Organizations | Working with purposeful leaders to reduce overwhelm, navigate change, and amplify impact | Subtraction Architect | People-First Champion
We’re smiling for good reason 🤗 Our business is turning one today 🎉 As the countless business owners who have come before us know all too well, putting out your own shingle is not for the faint of heart. There are health insurance premiums (don’t get me started on this), seemingly endless red tape and business administration tasks, self-employment taxes, unpredictable revenue, and the fear of not having as great of a day-to-day impact as you had in your traditional leadership role. If we knew then what we know now, we may not have made the leap at all. But it’s never a good idea to make decisions while sitting snugly inside your comfort zone. It’s best that we did not know. Because there’s also the flip side: A flexible schedule that allows us to take a long walk in the morning or go to the movies on a Tuesday afternoon. The ability to work from anywhere. The freedom to choose the projects we say “yes” to. And most important, the joy of working with some fantastic clients and having the ability to make an impact on many organizations and individuals. For that privilege, we’d like to thank those leaders, teams, and nonprofits who have made this past year so rewarding. WORK ANNIVERSARY! 🎉 Today marks 🔟 years since I joined Lockton Global Real Estate . It doesn't really feel that long since the first day, having run up Tower 42 that morning for charity, I arrived (post shower) and was required to get straight to the task of securing a competitive new property insurance deal for a client, which by the end of day one we did 😊. There have been times during the 3,652 days where life in and out of work has been extremely challenging, and I am grateful for the support that has always been here and, continues to be demonstrated whenever people need it. Moreover, those toughest days pale in comparison when remembering days on which I have laughed 😂, collaborated and celebrated 🍾 with others. To mark the occasion, here are 10 reasons (not ranked) why I'm still here; looking older and greyer but still smiling! 1. Working alongside wonderful people who care and support others 2. Despite best laid plans, no one day is ever the same 3. Working in a well-respected firm that offers stability, a sense of belonging, purpose and success 4. A respect for the leaders within the business 5. Meeting new people and being part of a vast insurance community 6. The lunches, dinners, events and concerts 7. Opportunities to proactively explore your strengths, interests and improve yourself 8. Constant problem solving and the satisfaction of hard work paying off 9. Working in a business where you can help shape what the future holds 10. Working for an organisation that will listen and, in my experience, deliver what it says when you do the same #locktonlife #10yearsatLockton
