This week I virtually attended the Elite Business Live Conference #EBL2024. It was a very worthwhile investment of time with an inspirational line-up of speakers from the business world. Subjects ranged from sales strategies, harnessing the power of AI, the future of working from home, growth mindsets, optimising PR and marketing, attracting and retaining talent and sustainability. My key takeaways which I want to share are: ✔ Stay focused on purpose by having a ‘not to do’ list.  ✔  Don’t be all things to all people. If you speak to everyone, you speak to no one.  ✔ Be authentic – always.  ✔  Understand how to use AI tools to extract the most value. ✔ AI will be better tomorrow than it is today. ✔ GenZ side hustles are here to stay so work with it.  ✔  Purpose is important to all generations, but GenZ is less willing to compromise when it comes to following their ikigai (will let you look up that one!). ✔ Start your day by working on your most important task for 60 minutes. End your day with a shut-down ritual. ✔  Clarify your message. ✔ Bland doesn’t get shared. ✔ The top three drivers of a happy workplace are positive relationships, acknowledgement and psychological safety. ✔ Collaborate and help others.  ✔ When it comes to sustainability, it is better to do something than nothing.  ✔  Put people first. Finally, I loved how one of the panellists shared that they end the week with ‘Thank you Friday’. As a small business, I rely on an amazing network of people who help me in so many ways so I’m adopting #ThankyouFriday too. This week, I want to say ‘thank you’ to Andrea Mann for giving me her time and her thoughts on an idea I’ve had for a new service which is in the very early stages of development.
