We would like to share our latest project at Integra, where we are conducting a detailed analysis of approval requirements for digital towers versus traditional ones, specifically focusing on Qaqortoq airport in Greenland. Our goal is to identify key differences and develop a strategic roadmap for securing approval of a digital tower at this location. Here is what we are working on: 🔍 Gap Analysis: Investigating approval disparities between conventional and digital towers, pinpointing what is needed to approve a digital tower. 🗺️ Roadmap Development: Creating a strategic roadmap outlining the process to approve a digital tower at Qaqortoq, guiding the stakeholders through critical steps and considerations. 📊 Detailed Analysis: Examining operational, technical and safety aspects to understand approval requirements, comparing digital and conventional tower needs. Our report will be submitted for review by KAIR and the Danish Transport Agency. Stay tuned for updates on this innovative project! #AviationTechnology #DigitalTower #QaqortoqAirport #Innovation

It was a great time dedicated to connectivity by #Rail of Eastern part of Europe in the future. To rest of the Europe. To Middle East region. To Asia. Main insights were about #railways projects in Balkans, #passenger development with #highspeed lines, passenger #ticketing solution, #freight operations powered by #digital with the #DAC.
📣 This afternoon in Paris #UICrail and the SEESARI South East Europe Strategic Alliance for Rail Innovation hosted the SEESARI workshop under the theme “Railway Development Potentials in South East Europe.” Welcomed by SEESARI Chairman Peter Verlič, Director Europe Sandra Gehenot, the aim of the meeting was to discuss and explore the vast opportunities and challenges associated with railway development in South East Europe and how to collectively enhance railway development in this region. 🧩 As emphasised in the opening words, SEESARI is a special group started in 2016 composed of over 80 members today. The group offers a platform to connect, to coordinate and exchange best practice, with the aim of fostering a network dedicated to the development of the railways, strengthen cooperation and develop concrete projects in the region. The workshop consisted of panel discussions and individual presentations addressing: ➡️ Boosting Rail Development in South East Europe, where the most relevant projects in the region were highlighted, notably on common projects for #modernisation and construction of double-track lines with 200 km line speed. ➡️ High-speed lines and cross-border passenger mobility in South East Europe (SEE), where presentations addressed the challenges of connecting regions and cities, what the railways are doing to improve passenger journeys and the #customerexperience, as well as what #UICrail is doing to provide solutions for interoperable implementation, notably through tools to address sector needs such as #OSDM. ➡️ Digital automatic coupling (#DAC) status and priorities in SEE, opportunities and challenges in the region and how UIC is supporting the implementation of this technology which is a unique opportunity to revolutionise freight transport on rail. 🌟 The meeting put the SEE region in the spotlight, highlighting the need to connect the cross-border aspects for both freight and passenger, the need for #coordination, for #exchange and #bestpractice, to ensure that everyone is aligned. It is clear that learning from each other and learning from the industry – along with #cooperation and co-creation – are essential to make the sector future-proof.

It's InnoTrans Week, and we're thrilled to share some groundbreaking news about Eviden from the world of rail innovation. Luxembourg's National Railway Company (CFL) is embarking on a monumental journey to modernize its communication systems. This project demonstrates the transformative power of cutting-edge technology and underscores the pivotal role of each industry professional in shaping the future of rail operations. Key Innovations: • Implementation of next-generation Mission-Critical (MCx) communication systems • One of Europe's first commercial MCx deployments in the railway sector • A significant step towards FRMCS (Future Railway Mobile Communication System) Why This Matters: Enhanced Safety: Advanced communication systems mean better coordination and faster response times in critical situations. Operational Efficiency: Streamlined communications lead to improved resource management and reduced delays. Future-Proofing: This move sets a new industry standard, paving the way for the next era of railway communications. Interoperability: Seamless integration with existing networks (PBX, Wi-Fi, 4G/5G, GSM-R) opens the door to more connected and intelligent transportation systems. Looking Ahead: This project is not just about upgrading technology – it's about reimagining the possibilities in rail operations. As industry professionals, we should be asking: • How can similar innovations be applied to other transportation sectors? • What opportunities does this create for cross-industry collaboration? • How might this impact the future of smart cities and integrated mobility solutions? Let's discuss it! What potential do you see in these emerging railway communication technologies? #Railway #DigitalTransformation #FutureOfTransport #SmartMobility #InnoTrans2024 #Innovation Oliver Kleinhenz Roland Meyer Azita Esmaili Dr. Natalija Krivokapić Mirko Ross Dinis Guarda Jorge Cunha

“What gets measured gets managed” — and effective management starts with good Data Governance (!) 📏📊🇵🇭 This principle is central to the SMMR project’s work in #Iloilo, where we’re laying the foundations for a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (#SUMP). This data-driven, participatory planning framework aims to foster cohesion across all transport modes and strategic projects... ...and the city of Iloilo is already taking great steps forward with proposals for projects including high-quality bus corridors, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), and non-motorised transport (NMT) initiatives... 🚌🛺🚲 ...the success of these efforts, however, depends on effective coordination across public, private, and informal sectors to ensure that all transport systems and services complement rather than compete with each other... ...after all, the success of mass transit depends on its accessibility by other modes — whether on foot, by tricycle, or by Jeepney. Achieving seamless integration benefits everyone: enhancing convenience for users, efficiency for operators, and connectivity for the entire community. Win-Win-Win (!) 📑🏛️📊 To support this vision, the SMMR - Sustainable Mobility in Metropolitan Regions in ASEAN team is drafting a concept note for a Data Governance Framework and an Open Data Platform, using Iloilo’s BRT and bus corridor projects as catalysts. This framework will set out to improve data availability, close information gaps, and enhance accessibility, paving the way for a more integrated, resilient mobility system in Iloilo. 📸 – Photos from our most recent workshop in Iloilo last week featuring Ronald Cartagena, Keith Cameña, Azarel Chamorro, Marion Micah Tinio. Thank you all for your active participation. ––– SMMR - Sustainable Mobility in Metropolitan Regions in ASEAN is a project of The ASEAN Secretariat and German Development Cooperation(giz) implemented by GFA Consulting Group GmbH and partners (Clean Air Asia) on behalf of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH ––– #SustainableUrbanMobility #DataGovernance #BRT
