It’s encouraging to see this. The QCTO is moving forward. Focus on TVETS can be a significant enabler in helping education hit the mark it needs to. However, the educational regulation environment is paralysing in many ways, and I can’t help wondering how suited it is to an emerging economy like ours where the crises are TODAY. Can we as a country afford a complex and cumbersome regulatory ecosystem with so much uncertainty in it? Is it scant in developmental mindset? Is it attuned to the economic realities of the people who most need it to be nimble? Many views exist. It’s encouraging the QCTO is getting behind initiatives like those in this publication. Can we hope that it signals a new urgency?
The new QCTO Research Bulletin for 2023-24 is now out. Thank you to all the authors who contributed and the team for their hard work in putting this document together. Content includes articles on TVET Readiness for Occupational Qualifications and Research Partnerships in the sector, as well as reports on the Implementation of Occupational Qualifications by SDPs and the use of SMEs. You can download it at https://lnkd.in/d4zwnsmJ under the published presentations table. Feel free to share with anyone you think might be interested in reading. Dr. Naomi S. As mentioned before, we utilize an evidence-based framework in all of our work whether we are evaluating programs and projects, guiding teams through Evidence-Based Problem-Solving, or advising on reaching performance measures and outcomes particularly in the postsecondary access and success space. The seven phases of the framework below combined with the five sources of evidence in the middle of the circle provide a rationale and process for implementing initiatives/interventions and assessing the impact and outcomes. Check out our website for more information and explanations of each phase and source of evidence! https://lnkd.in/eseY4E7S

Save Our Sisyphus Challenge: Lessons learned from Strategus execution on the OHDSI Network #OHDSISocialShowcase #JoinTheJourney Lead: Anthony Sena Team: Jenna Reps, Chungsoo Kim, Dr John Brewster, Adam Black, Linying Zhang, Michael Cook, Phan Thanh Phuc, Scott DuVall, Marc Suchard Background: The Save Our Sisyphus (SOS) Challenge educated the #OHDSI community on the process of leading or participating in an OHDSI network study. A motivation for the SOS challenge was to test the hypothesis that with a well-defined tutorial and the support of OHDSI tools running on a standardized R environment, OHDSI members can execute network studies effectively and efficiently, and present valid results to the study coordinators. A critical step in the OHDSI network study process is the execution of analytical code against patient level data transformed to the #OMOP Common Data Model. The SOS challenge made use of the Strategus R package which aims to provide the software infrastructure for running the OHDSI HADES analytical packages. Here we share lessons learned from the network execution of the SOS Challenge across 11 OHDSI network sites and ideas for improvement of Strategus and study execution moving forward. https://lnkd.in/eHQy2Rre
