Historic Psychedelic Research Site Launches Groundbreaking Campaign 🧬 Shulgin Farm, where pioneering chemists Ann & Alexander "Sasha" Shulgin synthesized & studied novel psychedelic compounds, has announced the Seed Crystal Campaign to transform the site into a center for research, education & healing. Without the Shulgins, there would be no psychedelic renaissance. Now, we have the chance to honor their contributions and empower the next generation of researchers, therapists, and explorers. #ShulginFarm #PsychedelicResearch #PsychedelicMedicine #ScientificLegacy #Psychopharmacology

🧠 Numerous studies and statistical reports have shown that the prevalence of anxiety-related disorders (Generalized Anxiety Disorder, PTSD, OCD, Phobias…) has been increasing over recent years. Current treatments are insufficient to alleviate anxiety symptoms because of their lack of effectiveness or potential side effects in part due to their poor specificity. At Neuroservices-Alliance, we offer preclinical models of anxiety-related disorders developed by our expert platform OptoPath, allowing to capture specific aspects of anxiety-related conditions. Are you currently developing drugs targeting anxiety-related disorders? Reach out to contact@neuroservices-alliance.com for more information on our Fear & Anxiety preclinical models. In the latest episode of the Mind Gut Conversation podcast, I speak to Dr. RIMA Kaddurah- Daouk, who currently leads and coordinates an international multi-center research consortium, the Alzheimer’s Disease Metabolomics Consortium or ADMC, which consists of more than 120 scientists from over 30 academic institutions. She has published over 140 peer-reviewed scientific publications, leads a large number of active NIH grants, and ranked as the highest-funded researcher in psychiatry departments nationally in 2018. Dr. Kaddurah has more than 60 patents or patent applications for using metabolomics to diagnose and treat brain diseases. Topics we discuss in this podcast include: - What are the major scientific breakthroughs in our understanding of AD that have come from the ongoing research of The National Institutes of Health AD consortium? - The scientific approach on which the AD grant is based is radically different from the classical reductionistic biomedical research strategy and is based on systems biology and the paradigm of interconnectedness. Based on the lack of progress in effective treatments for AD to date, do you believe this new approach has a better chance of success? - Are there any new therapeutic strategies emerging from this new research? You can find the episode in all formats by going to: https://lnkd.in/gWC4qCHr #mindgutconnection #podcast #alzheimers #NIH #research #ketodiet

Psychedelics like psilocybin, LSD, and MDMA may help protect the brain from some aspects of aging, showing promise in improving executive functions and reducing depressive symptoms. While more rigorous studies are needed, these findings could pave the way for innovative treatments for age-related cognitive decline. #Psychedelics #AgingBrain #MentalHealth #Neuroscience #Innovation #Psilocybin - Kallol Kumar Bhattacharyya, Kaeleigh Fearn Carly Cassella for ScienceAlert 👇 https://lnkd.in/g7iNYDcn

🗣 Let's keep FND research flowing!💡 The Tremor Retrainer Software Application for Functional Tremor: Pilot Study, led by Jordan Garris, MD 🧠 The UVA Health System Department of Neurology seeks children and adults ages 10 and older with a diagnosis of functional tremor for a research study. The purpose of the research study is to evaluate ease of use for a smartphone-based intervention called “Tremor Retrainer” is for patients with functional tremor. The study involves a one week of at-home smartphone-based intervention and 4 visits to UVA lasting 60-90 minutes each. These will occur weekly for 3 weeks and then once again 3 months later. Study-related exams and intervention provided free of change. No compensation is provided for this study. Patients will be reimbursed for travel expenses up to $50 per study visit. For more information please contact: Hannah Caballero, Clinical Research Coordinator 434-297-5711, HTP5AW@uvahealth.org IRB-HSR # 230161 Our research 📚 section on the website is a great way for FND researchers to highlight their project. It is also of interest for people interested in research to find out what projects are currently happening in the field of FND! 🔔 If you want to find out more about any of the studies please check out the research section on our website: https://lnkd.in/e-WYFbfU

🍄 Magic Mushrooms: From Recreation to Healing the Brain 🧠 Exciting neuroscience research reveals the potential of synthetic psilocybin and psychedelic mushroom extracts (PME) for treating psychiatric disorders. Our team at Human Metabolome Technologies (HMT) proudly conducted the metabolomics for this revolutionary study. Key Findings: 1. Enhanced Synaptic Plasticity: PME shows a more potent and prolonged effect compared to synthesized psilocybin alone. 2. Differential Metabolic Effects: Distinct metabolic profiles suggest varying impacts on brain health and oxidative stress. Congratulations to Tzuri Lifschytz and the team on this excellent work! Special thanks to our VP of Business and Product Development, Alex Buko, who helped with data analysis and is a co-author of the paper. 📊 Explore how the science of magic mushrooms could revolutionize mental health treatment. Stay tuned for more updates from HMT! #Psilocybin #MentalHealth #Neuroscience #BrainResearch #Psychedelics #Metabolomics #Research #Innovation #HumanMetabolomeTechnologies
