As psychedelics move into the mainstream, it's crucial to balance enthusiasm with caution. Brad Burge, founder of Integration Communications, shares his insights in this New Lines Magazine piece: "If local jurisdictions decriminalize and legalize these substances without adequate scientific knowledge about their risks and without adequate harm reduction measures, we're going to get more horror stories."
Integration Communications is dedicated to promoting informed, responsible discussions about psychedelics in business and beyond. Read the full article for a nuanced perspective on the psychedelic renaissance.

Psychedelics at End Of Life:
Here is a very well-balanced, thought-provoking article on the use of psychedelics in end-of-life care. This Canadian movement will, I predict, come to the United States too. 📽 Check out the recording of our recent event with Dr. Ruben Laukkonen on psychedelics, insight and the emergence of false beliefs!
💡 During this talk, Ruben reviewed experimental work on false insights and false memories and proposed that the acute plasticity associated with psychedelics increases the quantity and precision of insights and thence beliefs, including false ones. His research offers directions for future research in minimising epistemic harm during psychedelics. Ultimately, knowing how psychedelics solicit false insights and beliefs is crucial if we are to optimally leverage their therapeutic potential.
❓How should researchers, professionals and others working in the psychedelic space contend with the potential of psychedelic experiences to induce "false" or distorted beliefs?

The gold standard of current psychedelic research has its merits, yet it's important to acknowledge its limitations. While it has already provided us with some valuable insights into the effects of psychedelics, it's not without constraints.

❤️Worried about AI taking jobs or societal collapse? Besides building new cities and new tech, or Mars escape plans, there are other things we can do, too: like helping humans heal our souls and raise our collective consciousness.
📝Here is one way: do you have a healing gift? A therapy license? A MSW? Have you considered training to become a practitioner for PAT (psychedelic assisted therapy)? There aren’t enough trained medical professionals for the job and it isn’t practical / cost effective. Regulators are actively trying to figure out besides medical doctors, who else can be trained to do this job. As we know, in ancient healing arts, not everyone can be a shaman, for healing the soul is as sacred, if not more than healing the body. But the call is strong for those that are, so you would know. If you already offer your couch 🛋️ and support for friends going on psychedelic trips recreationally at parties and festivals, you probably have a healing gift for this to explore.
🎙️Learned about this from an Uncommon Core lecture at Uchicago alum weekend. The talk was fantastic. The speaker had much wisdom and experience. She really gets it.
📚A very timely free resource for healing practitioners interested in training in psychedelic assisted therapy (PAT), more systematically. As we move into healing of the last frontier of human health: the brain, as the United States prepares for legalization of psychedelics, and as western societies and modern sciences in general collaborate deeper with ancient healing medicines and spiritual arts in this new era, there will be such overwhelming need and shortage of care professionals to support people through these journeys (literal journeys). There is already so much need today, in our fragmented and polarized society. World peace and human flourishing might just depend on it.
💖 Do you hear the call to practice healing? If so, new paths are waiting to be forged by you. Hope you’d answer the call.
In my latest article for Psychedelic Support, I explore the synergy between natural settings and psychedelic experiences, and how nature can be better incorporated into psychedelic treatments, drawing on the work of Sam Gandy.

To my psychedelic guide/facilitator friends and colleagues - can you offer insights into the relationship between your clients' psychedelic experiences and changes in health-related behaviors? My trusted colleague from Synthesis, Pedro Teixeira, PhD is conducting a study in partnership with Leiden University, Imperial College London, and Columbia University, and is looking for participants who have served as a psychedelic guide for others. This is one of the first (if not the first!) studies in psychedelics focusing on Practitioners' perceptions and experiences.
