I take the risk out of your software development projects and make them valuable, efficient, and predictable.

In our previous episode, I talked about the importance of visualizing your current work-in-progress to uncover bottlenecks, enhance decision-making, and provide clarity on your team's workload. Now, let's tackle what often comes next: realizing you have too much work in progress. Why does this happen so often to development teams, and what can we do about it? In this episode, I'm diving into strategies to manage and prevent this overload. I cover setting WIP limits, staying responsive, and juggling organizational demands effectively. Tune in to hear how to avoid overcommitting, the perks of prioritizing and finishing tasks before jumping into new ones, and how to use Lean principles to keep your workflow sustainable. This is a process we've have been trying to work towards at AAS... Having too much WIP means everything is slowed down for delivery. And, due to constantly looking for the highest-value priorities, being overloaded on too many projects at the same time increases the risk that some projects may get delayed mid-stream, or worse, scrapped. Those situations are inefficient, demoralizing for the team, and gives the team a black-eye when the business doesn't understand the issues at play. Great content, as always, Phil - thanks!
