Helping people build their dream homes & inspiring offices with approachable luxury | Founder & Principal Architect- Tangram
In the world of design, there seem to be two main approaches: - Designers who have a distinct, signature style that they bring to every project. - Designers who deeply consider the site, context, and setting, allowing these elements to guide their creative process. There’s no right or wrong approach. Many incredible architects are known for their "trademark" design styles. However, as I’ve delved deeper into my own work, I’ve come to realize that adhering to a specific style doesn’t resonate with me. I believe each project is unique, deserving a fresh perspective and a clean slate. Designing something new every time feels more authentic to me. Also, Happy Independence Day to you all! #tangramblr #architects #residentialdesign

CAST architecture celebrates its 25th year. Founded in 1999, CAST is a Seattle-based firm creating contemporary spaces throughout the Pacific Northwest. We live and design by these Five Core Values: DRAW INSPIRATION FROM PLACE Our surroundings and our community inspire us. We love this region and endeavor to create spaces that embody its unique vitality, intelligence, and lifestyle. Our work responds with intuitive solutions that make the most of the sensitive environment. EMBRACE COLLABORATION Collective insights drive CAST’s design process with results that transcend the ordinary. We form strong relationships with project participants. We listen to needs, explain concepts, and work together toward a vision that reflects values we collect along the way. ELEVATE THE PRAGMATIC CAST designs for the real world. We work within budget, schedule, climate, and site constraints to elevate the design. We find efficiencies and meet challenges with inspiring solutions. Our projects are remembered for their unique aesthetic and livability. ENGAGE THE COMMUNITY Buildings have a profound effect on the human experience. We engage the community with enthusiasm to evoke emotion and encourage interaction. People feel heard. Concerns are addressed. Concepts are born. COMMIT TO POSITIVE SOCIAL IMPACT Our design only truly works when CAST has the opportunity to create lasting benefits for people and our planet and when the community embraces the result. Emerging concepts are our passion but our recommendations are grounded in reality. www.CASTarchitecture.com #castarchitecture #architecture #design #seattlearchitect #seattlemodernarchitect #pnwarchitecture

Turning Architectural Challenges into Cheerful Chats In the world of architecture, we often encounter clients with unique quirks and requests. Here’s a lighthearted look at how to handle these situations with a smile: 🔄 The Flip-Flopper: For the client who’s always changing their mind, offer a “Two-in-One Design” – a blueprint that caters to both classic and modern tastes. Just flip the page for a new perspective! 🖼️ Tight Budget: Introduce “Dream Windows” for the budget-conscious client. These are simply frames where they can visualize any view they desire, all without spending a dime. ⏰ The Rush Job: For those in a hurry, jest about your “Yesterday Service” where, thanks to some playful time-bending, their project is already complete – they just need to catch up with the timeline! 🌿 Eco-Friendly Doubts: Suggest “Magic Paint” that not only changes color with the seasons but also produces oxygen. It’s a fun way to discuss the benefits of sustainable materials. 👥 Too Many Cooks: When dealing with a committee, propose a “Group-Think Tent” – a space where ideas are shared until the best one echoes out. Humor can be a great tool to navigate through the complexities of client-architect relationships. Keep it light, keep it fun, and let’s build something amazing together! #ArchitectureHumor #ClientManagement #CreativeSolutions

New work for Common Affairs, an uncommon architecture firm! In a predominantly black-and-white architectural world, we embraced a bold and colorful brand that deviates from the norm, without overshadowing their incredible projects. Instead, we customized the brand identity for each project, using the essence of each one as our guide. This essence, known as the spark, is central to Common Affairs' identity. It’s a smile, a touch of joy, something surprising and delightful that sparks wonder—an element that shines through in every project they undertake. We can’t wait to see how this new identity elevates their brand in the architectural realm.

One of the most important reasons why every architect needs a professional website is that it is really helpful for building trust with prospective clients. Your clients aren’t buying a designer handbag here; they’re investing possibly millions of hard-earned dollars on the commercial or residential property of their dreams, which, as you well know, means if you want them to choose you—building trust is key. Here are the ways architects can use their website to build trust with their prospective clients. → https://lttr.ai/AXveJ #Architects #WebsiteDesign #DigitalMarketing

"People ignore design that ignores people.“ If a design doesn’t align with the needs and preferences of its users, they are likely to overlook it in favour of solutions that better meet their objectives. This principle drives us to create spaces that connect with their users. Our designs go beyond aesthetics, focusing on enhancing the daily lives of those who interact with them. By prioritising the needs and experiences of individuals, we ensure that our projects are not only visually compelling but also functional and meaningful. #Thembela #ThembelaArchitects #Architects #DesignThatMatters #DesignWithPurpose #PeopleFirst
