Thank you, Aleksandar Botev, for sharing about the Griffin architecture – the Transformer alternative – with the BuzzRobot community. Griffin handles long sequences well and is more efficient during inference. In some use cases, it can replace Transformers. It will be interesting to see how the industry responds to Transformer alternatives over the years. Interestingly, some Gemma models (the family of open-source LLMs) are powered by Griffin.
