Reminder to Mr Ayota Patrick, Managing Director NSSF! Please respond to the letters my lawyers wrote to you demanding access to my invalidity benefits so that I can explore treatment options in or out of country. It is abundantly clear your doctors at Nelson Medical Specialists & The Surgery in Naguru failed to do tests and ascertain answers to crucial questions about my chronic back pain. Misdiagnoses have consequences. You don't get it! I was shocked to hear that they reported to you that I'm not sick, and you believed them without seeking a second opinion. Should this be considered to be an isolated incident caused by human error or is it business as usual? Don't we deserve better? Why should I struggle paying hospital bills out of pocket for a life threatening condition when I have hundreds of millions of Uganda shillingis stashed in my NSSF savings account? Do you think everyone is entitled to medical evacuation overseas at the expense of taxpayers?

Newmark Global Strategy is currently hiring for 2 positions: Economic Incentives Advisory Director (I previously posted link), and also a Location Strategy Analyst. I like working for Newmark because: 1) We are leading the site selection industry globally. Newmark is the most represented firm in Site Selectors Guild membership, with many of our leaders being former past presidents of the organization, and founding shareholders. We are at the peak of our profession, leading projects in the most pertinent industries of today's economy (semiconductor, EV supply chain, data center, etc.). Our projects are global in scope, and our leadership are recognized globally as thought leaders. 2) We have leadership that promotes a culture of excellence. Our clients continue to provide us with feedback that our work is detailed, thoughtful, engaging, and frankly "spot on." We understand our assignment, and we deliver. Our leadership is constantly reviewing our work, our processes and our communications and asking how we can make it even better. 3) We have leadership that also promotes a culture of kindness to ourselves, our colleagues, our clients and economic development professionals we work with. When you have a true culture of kindness, you know it's special. 4) The work is a blast. We love building analytics models, learning new industries and their drivers, learning about new locations from tier-one global cities to rural enclaves. We love learning about their cultures, their people and workforces, and how companies thrive in unique ways everywhere. 5) Not only do we have current awesome leadership, we also have a deep bench of leaders. If you have previously experienced a work environment that was overly reliant on one leader that left chaos upon their departure, you know why this is important. Everyone here is capable, smart, learning from each other, kind and excellent at what they do. Apply for our Location Strategy Analyst Position here: https://lnkd.in/gqJA-y3h

I am paranoid. Am I ready to be a manager? There are 4 major categories of paranoia in this context - 1️⃣ Holding on to your creations - You are so attached to what you built and do not want to give that job to someone else; maybe cos you don’t trust someone with that or cos you just to attached to that 2️⃣ Time management - Do I have the bandwidth to train a new person and also deliver on my work at the same time? 3️⃣ Fear of replacement - What if the new person takes over all my tasks and I become redundant? 4️⃣ Abundance of work - With addition of more resources, the management might expect a multiplier of delivery I talked to my mentors about this & One of the biggest analogy that I came across in this topic was “Am I ready to be a father?” & here is an interesting conversation - Them: What is your age? Me: 30 Them: What is the age of your father? Me: 61 Them: Wrong. Me: (I am taken aback) he is my father, how are you saying I am wrong? I know his age better. Them: The correct answer is 30. He became a father only when you were born! Maybe no one is a born manager before they hired anyone. Cos the first step to becoming a Good Manager, is to trust and hire! Thoughts? P.S. We at Rocketlane hiring for a Business Operations Analyst!
