Why It Happened, Mindset for Every Electrical Technician.
Understanding the root cause of issues is more than just a troubleshooting exercise—it’s about preventing future problems, ensuring safety, and improving the overall reliability of the system. Taking the time to dig deeper, rather than applying a quick fix.
Here’s what I have learned working as an Electrical Technician at Matrix Group Energy
🔹 Patience and Observation: Take a step back and look at the big picture. What signs were there before the failure? Was it a gradual issue or a sudden shutdown?
🔹 Data and Documentation: Use all available data—previous fault records, maintenance logs, and even minor observations from operators. Some Patterns can emerge that might not be visible at first glance.
🔹 Collaborate with Others: Sometimes, the solution lies outside the electrical domain. Communicating with other departments can shed light on underlying factors that contribute to the problem.
🔹 Never Assume: Even when a solution seems obvious, it’s worth verifying. Small assumptions can lead to big mistakes.
For me, it’s not just about restoring power or fixing a circuit. It’s about building a system that’s stronger, safer, and more efficient in the long run.
