When I started in the semiconductor industry in the early 1970s, there were no women in executive roles or board positions. The odds of me landing one of those positions seemed severely stacked against me, yet I was able to succeed. How? In my latest blog post, I'm sharing three strategies I used to make sure I didn't let the odds didn't get in my way on the path to becoming the world's first female CEO of a semiconductor company. Throughout history, women have continuously proven their prowess in innovation and creativity, breaking barriers and reshaping industries with their groundbreaking inventions. From household essentials to cutting-edge technologies, their contributions have left an indelible mark on society. From the pioneering work of Hedy Lamarr in developing frequency hopping spread spectrum technology, a precursor to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, to the revolutionary medical advancements by Dr. Patricia Bath with the invention of the Laserphaco Probe for cataract treatment, women have consistently demonstrated their ability to think outside the box and drive progress forward. But it doesn't stop there. Women inventors have enriched our lives in countless ways, from everyday conveniences like the dishwasher (thanks to Josephine Cochran) to life-saving innovations such as the fire escape by Anna Connelly. Their ingenuity knows no bounds, and their diverse perspectives bring forth solutions that cater to the needs of all. As we celebrate Women's History Month, let's recognize and amplify the voices of these remarkable innovators, and continue to champion diversity and inclusion in the realm of invention. #WomenInInnovation #Inventors #DiversityInTech #WomensHistoryMonth
