What questions do you have for leaders of risk-bearing provider groups?
Isaac Park, CEO of Keebler Health, asked me this question at the end of our interview. It's a great question - one I rarely think about, but also a very important one to consider. If you watch the video (around 20:50 [1]), you might see my head spinning as I try to think of what to say!
My response was to question back. My question to them:
"If you could change some parts of the current policies or programs, what would you want to change?"
Rather than just sticking to program details, I think it's important to step back from time to time and reflect on whether we're all heading in the right direction. I believe most policies start with good intentions. However, these initial good intentions often get tainted as they encounter the complexities of reality, and the resulting operation may end up going in a totally different direction.
So, I ask the leaders: To achieve the triple aims, what parts of the current landscape do you like, and what parts do we need to change? We need a healthy discussion around the "data"! And you know where to find that data and where to have those discussions ;)
Also, please check out Keebler Health - they're smart, as you can tell from their sophisticated interview questions, and they're awesome people!
By the way, if you plan to listen, I recommend playing it at 1.25+x speed. I somehow talked really slooowww...

We recently had the privilege of sitting down with Yubin Park, PhD, chief builder at mimilabs and a leading voice in healthcare data and machine learning.
Our conversation ranged from the great things that can happen when you build a data platform where people can collaborate, to why data without context has no meaning, to how LLMs can learn to better understand healthcare datasets, to how public datasets can be used to build better patient-provider relationships.
There are so many great insights from this conversation, so give it a watch if you’re interested in learning more about:
🚀 The mission of mimilabs and how it's making it easier to access datasets, whilst building a community who are using this data to find something useful. 🚀
📉 Why context is so important in understanding datasets. 📈
🏥 How LLMs will access healthcare data and change the way we use it. 🏥
💡 How public datasets can be used in innovative and informative ways. 💡
👨⚕️ How healthcare groups can use public data to impact patient outcomes. 👩⚕️
❓ What questions he has for leaders of risk-bearing provider groups.❓
