Savvy and experienced in-house counsel delivering efficient and innovative solutions to corporate legal headaches.
This is a foundational read for those of us working in compliance and legal. As lawyers, I think most of us have a solid grounding in ethics and philosophy. Having received an excellent Jesuit liberal arts training and having taken a number of leadership classes in Navy ROTC, Philosophy is a first love, but it’s very easy to forget that may not be true for our business teams. The next time you’re putting together a training on the dos and don’ts of something, it may be very wise to focus more heavily on the philosophical and ethical underpinnings of the whys. I know I will.

🤺 What can war teach us about corporate ethics and decision-making? 📖 Reflecting on my past research, I delved into the intricate connections between moral philosophy, war, and corporate ethics. Years back, my PhD focused on breaking the cycles of vengeance in armed conflict, a topic that still resonates today. 💡An insightful read from the Financial Times sheds light on David Rodin’s work at Principia Advisory, reinforcing the notion that "If comprehensive and consistent moral judgments are possible in war, they are possible everywhere." - Michael Laban Walzer 👏🏽 Kudos to David Rodin, his team, and Andrew Hill for this enlightening piece. It's fascinating to see how practical lessons from war can shape our understanding of ethics and culture in the corporate world. #moralphilosophy #businessethics #corporatedecisionmaking #coachingforcompliance #chiefcomplianceofficer #ethicsandcompliance #ethics #ceo #board Follow me at COMPAAS 360
