----------------------------------------------------------------------------- In our office, we like to keep things lively all week long! Instead of just waiting for Fridays, we spice up our Wednesdays with fun activities. Why? Because we’ve seen how it boosts everyone’s energy and makes them excited to tackle their tasks. These mid-week activities aren’t just about having a good time — they actually help our team focus and give their best effort. Seeing everyone get into the spirit of the games and challenges is amazing, and it really helps create a positive vibe in the office. It’s not just about fun; it’s also about building stronger bonds among our team members. When we’re all cheering each other on during these activities, it brings us closer together and makes us even more effective when we’re working together. So, whether it’s a quick game or a team-building exercise, our mid-week activities are all about keeping everyone engaged and energized. Summer is a time to get wondrous. It’s a time to take back some of the child-like things we want to heal or we want to keep. But in corporate America, it’s a time when people get pushed to the limit, navigating what to do without school or without high-cost summer camps…. And navigating our own wants and needs to take breaks….. What if we designed work to give ourselves as humans the breaks we are supposed to have naturally? Things like… - Not making new year resolutions because new things don’t actually start naturally on Jan 1, they start in spring. - Not working ridiculous hours during summer but working half-time hours or taking weeks off to unplug and rest and recharge - Not keeping to a man-made version of scheduling that makes no sense for our human beings Imagine what we’d accomplish and the innovations that would take place!!! Imaginative things don’t come from a brain trapped in someone else’s schedule…..they come from boredom and time away. What do you think? Should we be looking at pushing organizations to take summer breaks? In the Revolution of Work, this is the type of thing we talk about and what we know is coming…. Because humans need to human. We don’t need to continue to machine. #peopleandculture #work #hr #revolutionofwork

Is summer officially over? As a Client Manager, I always notice a shift when the summer ends. The relaxed vibe of summer meetings, the occasional out-of-office replies, and the slower pace all give way to the buzz of a new season. But it doesn't have to be sad! Now it’s all about refocusing, setting fresh goals, and gearing up for the final stretch of the year. I’m excited to reconnect with clients, dive into new projects, and bring renewed energy to our collaborations. Summer may be over, but the momentum is just beginning. So, here’s to finishing the year strong! If you need help getting your employees out of holiday mode, pop me a message to find some training to get everyone back on track 💼 #ClientManagement #NewSeason #Refocus #BusinessGrowth #LINKSTraining

Embracing the First Day of Summer: A Time for Culture Reflection and Growth As the sun reaches its highest point in the sky and the days stretch to their longest, we welcome the first day of summer with open arms. This season brings with it warmth, growth, and a renewed sense of possibility. While we often focus on personal goals and outdoor adventures, summer also presents a perfect opportunity to address and nurture the culture issues within our workplaces. Why Summer is the Ideal Time for Culture Reflection - A Season of Renewal and Growth: Summer is synonymous with growth. Nature flourishes, and we find ourselves more open to change and new experiences. This natural inclination towards growth can be harnessed to cultivate a more inclusive and respectful culture. - Relaxed Atmosphere: The laid-back vibe of summer can make it easier to have open and honest conversations. People are generally more relaxed, making it an ideal time to tackle tough topics and foster understanding. It’s time to get others rallied around your vision/values – start the discussions with Cards for Culture. - Increased Social Interaction: With vacations, festivals, and outdoor activities, summer encourages us to come together. This increased interaction can be leveraged to strengthen team bonds and address issues head-on. So let’s make Summer a season of positive change. Let’s enjoy the season but also to reflect on and address the culture issues that impact our workplaces. By fostering a culture of respect, we can create environments where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best. As you plan your summer activities, consider dedicating time to culture reflection and growth. Whether it’s through community events, training sessions, or simply having meaningful conversations, now is the time to sow the seeds of positive change. Together, let’s make this summer a season of warmth, growth, and culture harmony. Happy first day of summer! Books ideas about culture: Conscious Culture and Culture Impact - both on Amazon! Content Strategist & Brand Messaging Craftswoman 💡 I help brands build meaningful relationships with the people who matter. ✨ Sharing strategic ways to create value-packed content and stellar brand messaging.
Summer office work: What's your strategy? 🌞 Here's mine (and Kimchi's) 👇 Summertime can be a slow period, perfect for recharging. But it doesn’t have to mean just lounging around (though Kimchi begs to differ). Even when I have a ton of exciting projects on my hands, like I do now, I usually try three things in the summer: 1. I shift work hours 👉 I start early and wrap up early. Fridays are for chilling, resetting, and brainstorming fresh ideas. 2. I go to summer school 👉 Early mornings and late afternoons are dedicated to growth. Currently diving into a compelling copywriting course and a couple of insightful books. 3. I explore new spaces 👉 Variety sparks creativity. I mix it up by working from cafes and coworking spaces. The change in scenery is a game-changer (though there rarely are cats napping there). I'm a true believer in hitting pause to move faster forward. And summertime is an ideal example. How do you adapt your routine in the summer? Share your tips!

So great speaking with @MaryCalvi on @CBSNewYork yesterday! The nuances of summer flexibility and productivity are a complicated conversation and really differ across industries and businesses. Studies show that 41% of full-time employees are less productive during the summer months. We are trained since childhood that this is the time to relax and spend time with friends and family. Which it should be, but what does that mean for your productivity? In an attempt to boost productivity by compressing work, companies are experimenting with 4 day work weeks, Summer Fridays, and hybrid schedules. However, the realization that transitioning old habits is hard can cause some bumps along the road to flexibility. Regardless of your company's policies, don't forget to take regular time off to recharge and come back more focused and energized. What are your thoughts on productivity in the summer and flexible schedules?!
