There are many points to safety that make it complex, but not impossible, to achieve. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) proposes to adopt the Patient Safety Structural Measure (PSSM), an attestation-based measure that assesses whether hospitals demonstrate having a structure and culture that prioritizes patient safety. This measure captures the most vital elements to safety, which include: 💡 Leadership's commitment to eliminating preventable harm 💭 Strategic planning and organizational policy 🏥 A Culture of safety and learning health systems 🔍 Accountability and transparency 🤝 Patient and family engagement Learn more about this new measure and how our team can help you implement high reliability best practices that align with the PSSM domains from our Chief Safety and Transformation Officer Tejal Gandhi, MD, MPH, CPPS: https://lnkd.in/gW6dY_c7
