Alton Aviation Consultancy Managing Director John Mowry shares his insights on the challenges faced by lessors in terms of lease extensions for mid-generation aircraft the light of recent GTF issues in this Airfinance Journal article. “On the aircraft, we are seeing a lot of extensions on leases. Whereas throughout Covid airlines were returning aircraft to lessors on lease expiration, now lessors are not taking back deliveries because airlines want to extend them, so the dynamics have shifted because of the sharp recovery in air traffic,” says Mowry. Textron Aviation 1Q revenues inch up to $1.2bn Textron announced financial results for the first quarter of 2024 wherein the company reported revenue from its aviation segment at $1.2bn, up 3% year-over-year compared to $1.1bn in the same period last year. “In the quarter, we saw profit growth across our Aviation, Bell, and Systems businesses,” said Scott C. Donnelly, chairman and CEO, Textron.
