[LIVE] She Sells Sahur At 4a.m: Lady Provides Timely Restaurant Service During Ramadan An interesting report published by legit dot ng features a Nigerian Lady's video showing how she sells Sahur during Ramadan to fellow Muslims in her restaurant as early as 4a.m. Her video shows people coming in to order food - clearly a sign that the service meets their need to eat Sahur in a timely manner before commencing the day's fasting. Click https://lnkd.in/daP-qqUC for Fausat's reaction to the lady's video. TIP: LEARN MORE ABOUT FASTING & RAMADAN In this reaction video, Fausat includes useful information (e.g the meaning and significance of Sahur and Iftar respectively). Preview: Fasting (abstinence from food, drink and conjugal relationships from sunrise till sunset) is an activity that all Muslim faithfuls observe during the holy month of Ramadan. The purpose of fasting is to enable Muslims detach themselves from worldly affairs and focus more intently on building their relationship with Allah. To achieve its spiritual purpose, there is a need to know when the physical aspect of fasting should start and stop, as well as how those times are chosen. Sahur and Iftar guide Muslim faithfuls to know when to start and stop eating/engaging in sexual relations during Ramadan. Both words gain frequent usage during the month of Ramadan. SAHUR & IFTAR: WHAT THEY MEAN... Click https://lnkd.in/daP-qqUC to learn more.

JABBA THE HUT. Avoid being called by the name. Unless you deserve the title. You know, “Jabba-d-hut” can be seen during The Holy Month of Ramadhan . Usually at any hotels offer for Buffet Iftar (Breaking Fast). Iftar means - A Meal held everyday during Ramadhan at sunset (at the time of Adzan of the Maghrib Prayer). It is understandable we pay more than RM100++ for the Buffet Package. But it does not mean you need to fill your plate with excessive food. Islam didn’t teach us to become greedy over food. Traditionally, those observing Ramadhan break their fast by eating three dates (Kurma), to emulate the way Prophet Muhammad pbuh broke his fast. Eat moderately during breaking your fast. Avoid being greedy. Just take what you can eat and consume. In Malay we say “Membazir itu amalan shaiton” (Wastage is a practise of shaiton) Or you may use my phrase : “Are you Jabba-d-Hut?” Follow with eyes drolling on their plate + foods. . . . Note : Picture is for Ramadhan Promotions Only. The price shown is still affordable to many 😉 #foodbusiness #ramadhan #eatwell

One of these is actually beneficial and the other is a basic salt from Pakistan, and they knew it would be difficult to sell “Pakistani salt.” So what was the alternative? Give it a cool name, something that rolled off the tongue and made you think it traveled a long way to get to you- but the benefits were only minor compared to regular table salt, which costs substantially less. And that’s the story of Pakistani salt- I mean Himalayan Salt! #marketinggenius #seasalt #balticsalt #marketingsuccess #foodie

This post is about a fragile little treasure. A rare bird called the Kosher Halal Co-op is being reborn this winter at Oberlin College. Students committed to traditional Muslim or Jewish dietary practices—and plenty of others who are curious or just want to be a part of this project—will join together in that most human and local of traditions: eating and talking. (While working hard buying food, cooking, and cleaning up: it’s a co-op!) Against the backdrop of the world as it now stands, this coming together is, to me, a gift of hope—or prayer, if you prefer. KHC existed for decades, so far as I know the only institution of its kind in the world. (Google can’t find another.) It shut down during the pandemic, in part because of the college’s lack of support for this unique project, and many thought it was dead forever. But students have worked hard to recreate this space of interfaith harmony and cultural exchange. I know it will enrich the lives of the students here: it changed my life, forever, when I was a part of it decades ago. Here’s hoping that in these times it does even more, that the brave students who are together rebuilding KHC not only forge strong relationships despite their differences, but also that they show us all a new generation committed to building bridges, even in times of extraordinary pain and grief. For memories of KHC six or seven years ago, see Hassan Bin Fahim’s story, When Oberlin Had a Kosher Pakistani Restaurant – The Oberlin Review, https://lnkd.in/eGm7u4VM . #INsideAsiaPacific The dates can be one of the most important foods during #Ramadan. In this month, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset, and take 2 meals – the one before the dawn named Suhoor, the one after the sunset called Iftar. According to the Quran, the Prophet Muhammad ended his fast by eating some dates, hence Muslims usually start their Suhoor and Iftar with these fruits. Containing plenty of fiver and sugar, the dates help people combat the hunger pangs as well as the drop in blood sugar levels during daytimes. #InclusionAndDiversity
