I love moments like this. Truths just below the surface of the seemingly everyday, 'mundane'. This picture, which I recently snapped in #Kigali, #Rwanda, while moderating at the FIA General Assemblies, immediately struck me. I eagerly shared it with Regis A. Rugemanshuro, MBA, PMP, SPC4. Look closer. Notice the security checkpoint. Visitors can easily bypass it - entering through the porous border of the entire perimeter of building. Some might see it as a meaningless gesture, a façade of “security.” Yet, every visitor willingly walks through it, submitting themselves and their belongings to inspection without question. This simple act speaks volumes. It’s not about rules or enforcement - it’s about trust. Generalised trust, more specifically. Generalised trust is a kind of Holy Grail for nations - a deep wellspring nourishing economic growth, wellbeing, and much more. In Rwanda, scenes like this reflect a deeper truth. Generalised trust is the foundation for a thriving society - one that attracts investment, tourism, innovation, and global attention. There a few places where this is more evident than Rwanda. Trust changes everything. --- The Global Trust Project, #Trust, #Leadership, #Rwanda.
