📰 During a recent debate in the House of Lords on 14th December 2023, the discussion revolved around the pressing challenges and uncertainties related to fire safety, specifically within the context of the Building Safety Act. The paramount goal of councils, which is to ensure secure and high-standard homes for all tenants, faces numerous obstacles as they navigate through evolving technologies and regulatory frameworks. The Local Government Association (LGA) has expressed gratitude for the implementation of the Building Safety Act, which seeks to prevent incidents like the Grenfell Tower tragedy.
