Water is a precious shared resource with immense environmental, social, cultural, and economic value. As the demand for transition minerals and metals continues to rise, our industry must take proactive steps to prevent water contamination and land degradation. Today, ICMM and INAP:International Network for Acid Prevention launched a new tool to help mining companies prevent and reduce water pollution caused by acid rock drainage and metal leaching from mines. This is an urgent challenge that demands robust measures and a proactive approach – requiring informed, site-level planning from the earliest stages of a mine's operation through to its closure. The tool aims to safeguard water quality while reducing long-term remediation costs, supporting more sustainable practices across the industry. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/esAUYFQT
