Dear Colleagues, A recent article in the American Journal of Case Reports by authors from Prince of Songkla University, Thailand, describes a case of advanced-stage hepatocellular carcinoma with rare orbital metastasis. Highlighting the importance of recognizing orbital metastasis as an initial HCC sign, the patient was treated successfully using dual immunotherapy (durvalumab - tremelimumab) combined with radiotherapy, showing significant clinical improvement and decreased alpha-fetoprotein levels. This underscores dual immunotherapy's potential in treating advanced HCC with orbital metastasis and need for early diagnostic investigations in at-risk patients. The complete report is available on the American Journal of Case Reports webpage. | https://lnkd.in/d5bxvkxe

By combining radiotherapy (RT), the safety and efficacy of CAR-T can be improved. RT can serve as bridging therapy, reducing the tumor burden before CAR-T infusion, thus enabling safe and successful CAR-T infusion, and as salvage therapy in cases of CAR-T therapy failure.

Check out the latest CIRSE Library topic package on intermediate-stage HCC! ➡️ https://t.ly/FPjrC Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) can be described as "intermediate" based on its pathological features and clinical features. Intermediate-stage HCC encompasses the widest class of patients with extensively heterogeneous tumours that may differ in number, size, and location. Following BCLC classification, TACE is the therapeutic modality of choice. However, other treatment modalities are currently employed, such as thermal ablation, radioembolization, combined treatments with or without balloon-inflatable microcatheters, and systemic therapies. This topic package, curated by Renato Argiró, showcases lectures, guidelines, and academy courses, as well as further reading on the treatment of intermediate-stage HCC. #interventionalradiology #CIRSElibrary #InterventionalOncology

The primary objective of this study is to assess the effectiveness of ONC201 in treating glioma patients following radiation therapy. The study aims to evaluate the safety and tolerability of ONC201 compared to a placebo (a capsule that looks like ONC201 but does not contain any active drug) and investigate if ONC201 can improve the quality of life and brain functioning in people with glioma. You may be eligible for this study if: You are 18 years or older. You have a newly diagnosed H3 K27M-mutant diffuse midline glioma and it has not recurred following standard treatment. You have completed or plan to complete standard frontline radiotherapy within 12 weeks from initial diagnosis. Enroll by visiting Ivy Brain Tumor Center's website!

Waiting for #ECIO2024 Ablation Prediction and Confirmation for liver metastases from colorectal carcinoma (CRC) using XperGuide Software (Philips). 81 years old patient affected by two CRC metastases detected during MR follow-up. After catheterization of the hepatic artery, Dual-Phase CBCT was performed to detect the lesions and segmented using a dedicated software (XperGuide, Philips). After US-guided MW antenna (Emprint, Medtronic) placement in each lesion, a new CBCT was performed and superimposed to the first one to assess correct placement and evaluate the best ablation protocol to cover lesions and margins thanks to Ablation Prediction software. After ablation, a new Dual-Phase CBCT was performed, and volume of the ablations segmented and superimposed with the segmented lesions. Residual tumor was detected and treated with an additional ablation. Final Dual-Phase CBCT and segmentation showed complete coverage of the segmented lesion within the ablation volume.
