| ISTO Members | ♿🌟 With the granting of the public contract by Atout France - The France Tourism Development Agency France, Association Tourisme & Handicaps and ADN Tourisme will be able to continue their essential mission: to make holidays and leisure activities accessible to all. 🔎 Since 2001, the Tourisme & Handicap label has been a key player in tourism accessibility. In 2024, it supported 4,278 businesses that had already been awarded the label or were in the process of being awarded it, thanks to a dynamic network of 90 local relays (tourist offices, regional committees, etc.). 📌 In practical terms, what does this mean? 🤩 More support for local and regional players. 🤩 New tools to promote and further develop the label. 🤩 Better consideration of the needs of visitors with disabilities. 🌎✈️ On the European Commission website, #AccessibleTourism is defined as follows: "Accessible tourism is about making it easy for everyone to 𝙚𝙣𝙟𝙤𝙮 𝙩𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙢 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨. Making tourism more accessible is not only a 𝙨𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 – there is also a compelling 𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙚 for improving accessibility as it can boost the competitiveness of Tourism in Europe". From this definition we can understand how accessible tourism, is related not only to the issue of inclusion but also to the economy of the local area, because making facilities accessible increases both the number of visitors and the number of tour operators. Touristable is a project 𝘾𝙤-𝙛𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙀𝙪𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙣. The Partners are: Cooperativa Spazio Famiglia (Lead Partner), Ibonis Europe, Green Village, MfC Maendeleo for Children, Društvo za kulturo inkluzije. #Touristable #Education #Training #Inclusion #Sport #Tourism

🌍 Protecting children in travel, leisure, and entertainment industries was the focus of a recent event organised by The Bicester Collection, in partnership with the UN Office of the Special Representative and supported by the World Travel & Tourism Council, CWT, and ECPAT International. Key takeaways: 💡 Collaboration is Crucial: Ending the sexual exploitation of children in travel and tourism requires coordinated efforts between public and private sectors, from airports to local communities. 💡 Embedding Child Safety: The travel, tourism, and entertainment industries must prioritise child protection at every stage, including safety by design approaches. 💡 Unregulated Voluntourism: There’s a pressing need to regulate voluntourism to protect children, with interventions required at local, national, and international levels. The event demonstrated strong industry commitment to sustainable tourism that puts child protection at its core. Together, we can create a future where every child is safe. 🔗 Watch the video: https://lnkd.in/g-5CTRWe #ChildProtection #SustainableTourism #UnlockFutures #ActNow
