I want to take a moment to remember David Pittel, the first Chairman of what was then known as the European Sports Security Association (ESSA), now the International Betting Integrity Association, who sadly passed away recently. David served as a Director at bwin where he was tasked with creating ESSA, alongside several other online operators. It was David who recruited me into the organisation, an opportunity that forever shaped my career and gave me the chance to work alongside someone whose passion for the industry was truly inspiring. For many of our stakeholders, David was not just a leader, but a mentor and a friend. His vision and dedication laid the groundwork for the association we are today. Having spoken with his family, they wanted to ensure that everyone who knew David was aware of his passing and could take a moment to reflect on his tremendous contribution to our field. Rest in peace, David.
