Journalling is an incredible way to stick to your financial goals and reap the benefits and rewards of those goals! Grab a notebook or a journal and write down your goals and the steps you will take to achieve them. Then, each morning (or evening, whatever makes sense!), look at your goals and your plans, jot down your notes, and check in with yourself. Ask yourself “what can I do today to get me closer to my goal?” Jot down your answer, and write down any strategy adjustments you may need to make. Did you encounter an obstacle? Write it down! If you take a little bit of time each day to focus on your goal, you are more likely to stick with it and achieve the success you are after! I need your feedback. There’s this concept of a “money date” which is: A designated and uninterrupted time to discuss money with your partner in an enjoyable environment through a guided conversation. Our meetings with clients are often like personalized money dates, and we’ve seen couples make amazing progress just by having these conversations. But I’d like more couples to give these conversations a try whether they’re ready to pay for professional financial planning or not. So I’m playing around with this idea of hosting a free “Money Date” event. In this hypothetical idea, I’d provide the scheduled time, the guided conversation, and the comfortable environment - for several couples to attend and simultaneously engage in their own uninterrupted money conversations. Here’s where I need your help: Could this work? Would this be best at a coffee shop on a weekday morning? A quiet bar for happy hour? Or a virtual event?
