🌟 Excited to Share! 🌟 Last week our co-founder Christoph Kloss, project workpackage leader Augusto Fontan Moura and developer Mateus Fontoura have been to Seville, Spain to Kick-Off the latest Horizon Europe project. The ClimAir project uses AI to tackle climate change, air pollution, and respiratory diseases in Europe. By collecting data on greenhouse gases, air pollutants, and disease prevalence, it aims to improve public health through AI-driven interventions. This marks the start of a crucial initiative to climate-proof critical infrastructures in the Mediterranean. 🌍 The Med-IREN project will introduce Nature-based Solutions (NBS) to strengthen climate resilience in sectors like energy, transport, water, ICT, and social services. With five Mediterranean lighthouse regions as showcases, Med-IREN will demonstrate how NBS can mitigate climate risks and ensure infrastructure continuity. This Summit laid the groundwork for the main event, scheduled for the end of 2025 in the US, aiming to set the #vision and discuss its key #themes: ⚙ #risk analysis tools supporting planning and investment decisions 🚧 functional #recovery and integration of #societal benefits 🌱 gaps and needs towards infrastructure #sustainability 💰 novel #financing mechanisms to mobilize investment at large scale 🏛️ #policy and financial de-risking of climate-resilient investments 🛡️ innovative #insurance models for managing disasters 💵 the role of private capital in bringing climate tech to #market 🙏 We are immensely grateful to our guests, who traveled from the US and Europe to join us, for the expertise they brought to the table: Maria Lehman, Sissy Nikolaou, Laurie Johnson, Terry Smith, Petros Lekkakis, Pablo Nuñez and Guillermo Franco.
