Blimey, it says in the news today that there are 100,000 young people waiting to join Scouting in the UK. Here in Wales there are thousands.
I've loved getting involved in Scouts and LinkedIn pals, I know loads of you would love it too! Here are some ways to get involved:
💚 If you're a parent with a child in Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts or Explorers, offer to lend a hand when the leaders ask. You might be supervising activities, attending walks, or jumping off cliffs! It's a privilege to see and take part in the amazing adventures your child has access to.
💚 If you're the start of your career and you'd like to build professional skills, look on the ScoutsCymru website for a volunteer role. You can learn what it means to be a leader by getting stuck in. You can't beat standing in front of a group of children to hone your leadership skills, the boardroom is nothing compared to the Scout hut!
💚If you've got a lifetime of professional skills under your belt and you're looking towards retirement why not give something back? HR, financial planning, marketing, health & safety ... local groups need people to manage the adventure as well as lead it. If you can put up a tent, I'm sure that's an extra bonus 🙂
