🌍 Empowering youth through action learning programs: addressing their concerns 🤝, linking them to experts 🔍, solving community issues important to them 🏘, and amplifying their voices in decisions making 💬
Today I am looking at Anzac Day from a different perspective I understand and deeply respect that today is a day for honouring and remembering those who have sacrificed their lives. My intention is not to diminish the significance of their service but to reflect on the broader implications of war and how we can honour their memory through our commitment to peace. I see Anzac Day as a day not only to look back with gratitude but also to look forward with hope, striving for a world where such sacrifices are no longer necessary. I feel very strongly that we have to ask these questions. How many more people, how many more loved ones have to sacrifice their lives in the name of peace when we see war as the solution for the goal of peace rather than part of the problem. This image for me communicates the message that war is a profound human tragedy, not a path to peace. The juxtaposition of the innocence of childhood with the harsh realities of war, followed by the ultimate sacrifice, serves as a stark reminder of the lasting impact of conflict. It illustrates the loss of innocence and the enduring pain that lingers long after the battles have ceased. The phrase "Lest We Forget" reinforces the necessity of remembering these harsh truths, underlining the importance of seeking alternatives to war in the pursuit of peace. I also acknowledge while undesirable, war has at times played a role in leading to peace or has been seen as a necessary response to aggression or to prevent greater evils. I also acknowledge wars are waged to counteract oppression and tyranny. The valor and commitment of those who have served should never be overlooked; rather, they deserve our deepest respect and gratitude. Their experiences remind us that while the goal is always to resolve conflicts through peaceful means, there have been moments in history where war has been seen as the only option left to protect and promote peace and liberty. It is also a somber realisation that political agendas and power plays can be significant factors in the initiation of wars. This is abhorrent; the notion that leaders might prioritise personal, political, or national interests over the well-being of individuals and global peace is beyond comprehension. The manipulation of patriotic sentiments, the exploitation of resources, or the pursuit of ideological dominance at the cost of human lives reflects a grim side of human nature and governance. It underlines the importance of accountability, transparent governance, and the role of public discourse in decision-making processes related to war and peace. Recognising this potential for abuse of power is critical in our ongoing efforts to find more humane answers

Today, as we mark ANZAC Day from afar here in Saudi Arabia, I am reminded of the profound sacrifices made by the ANZAC soldiers. This day is not just a chapter from our history books; it's a legacy of bravery and resilience that shaped Australia and New Zealand. As we enjoy our freedoms and face daily challenges that seem insurmountable, it's vital to remember that our trials are pale compared to the ordeals faced by those who stood firm on distant battlefields. In a world where peace is often taken for granted, ANZAC Day calls us to reflect on the unwavering determination of our predecessors. The comfort and convenience of our modern lives can sometimes blur the true meaning of sacrifice — a concept the ANZACs were all too familiar with. Their enduring spirit, honed in the fires of war and through unimaginable hardships, is a testament to the strength needed to uphold the values we now enjoy without a second thought. As we live and work in parts of the world far from the shores of Gallipoli or the fields of Flanders, let us carry forward the ANZAC legacy by appreciating the hard-earned peace and liberties we enjoy. Today, let's pledge to remember their sacrifices and embody the ANZAC spirit of courage and comradeship in our daily lives. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. #LestWeforget #ANZAC #Mates #Australia #NewZealand #PNG #Grateful #ANZACDay2024 #Reflection

HOW DO WE SET OUR PRIORITIES ? As long as we face wars something is wrong. Our emotions are out of balance! Our rules-based international order was established after the second world war, a mere 80 years ago. The modern human species have existed for 100.000 years and our genes seem saturated with the need for basic elements of Maslow’s hierarchy. The 30-years war was a religious war that ended in 1648 with the signature of the treaty of Westphalen, that our present nations base their sovereignty upon. Our present challenge seems to be the exponential speed that our world grows. Furthermore, our widening scope is about to increase our (global) challenges. The guestion is will the world order catch up with the World? Getting our priorities right would free resources to tackle our challenges. Our commitment to an all-inclusive multilateral world order would be a quantum leap forward that serves us well. Could we combine the spirit of the Olympic committee (faire competition) with the efforts of the United Nations? It seems that we need a fresh foundation that makes us strong in cultural confidence for crossing dividing lines. Vienna 17th April, 2024 🇦🇹🇪🇺 BONAFIDE 🦅 ©️All rights reserved.

Well there you go-- another book I have to read this summer. Solid couple of panels in this recent Hoover Institution video, exploring a subject critically important to the American people, and to the world. Takeaways: 1. We and the world - and most notably Taiwan, Japan, other somewhat like-minded allies/partners in Asia - have plenty to do to ready for a quite likely near-term crisis. We don't have much time to do it. 2. Given the global impacts of an annexation by PRC of Taiwan, this is as much a Europe and rest-of-world fight as it is a U.S. and Asian allies fight. 3. The parallels to 1930-1940 in Europe are notable. As tired of conflict as any nation might be, there is no "peace dividend" to be found in any realistic analyses of the world. Vaguely attributed to Comrade Trotsky: "You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you." 4. Overwhelming military capacity and lethality matters - as the foundational underpinning of any postulated "all instruments" deterrence strategy. The precisely and consistently conveyed will to use it, likewise important. In real terms, the U.S. has the lowest capacity and least capable military we've had in 80 years. Turning on a dime to correct that, will take courageous and constant messaging to the American people, and concomitant support across all of government to make necessary immediate investments. 5. Re #4, it's quite likely too late. We can talk "turning on a dime" all day long, but that's not really how our system works in the U.S. - at least not until things are dire. Preemptive and strategic "turning on a dime," is fantasy. 6. Our messaging to Taiwan, quite specifically, regarding their readiness to defend themselves in any scenario, is critical and must be more direct, more frequent and more candid. Likewise, coaching, assisting and urging our most critical Asia allies along - to immediately build vastly increased military capacity, is essential, and currently not enough. If Taiwan insists on not being ready for a sustained fight to defend their freedom, culture, prosperity and sovereignty, it is questionable whether allies should be committed to coming directly to their aid. I've not yet read the book-- but plan to, and can surmise from this set of panels the directness and clear implications of the content. Here's a good use of some our national defense budget: Buy a copy of this book for every member of Congress, every cabinet secretary and all key members of the National Security Council and the White House staff.

📢 #Hawaii #Haiti #Caribean Listen to Prof. #jemimapierre the experience of #Haitian. It all sound too familiar, sending chills through one's spine. What can we learn? What are the root causes? What are the solutions? 📢 Priority: Nations must unite under one clear mandate: Eradication of #Klan Activities & #Apartheid Regime, with the aim to promote peaceful advancement of humanity in the spirit of #Peace & #CoProsperity. (NOTE: #Klan excludes those great souls genuinely believe in a Fair & Peaceful World, many in the West✌️) 🤨The Greatest #Hypocracy in Human History - US-led West and the "like-minded" lots. Yes, the same #Klan who is preaching "#Democracy, #Freedom and #Humanrights" while promoting geopolitical polarization and proxy wars. Sadly, US military bases and illicit operatives are exploited globally as part of its overreaching colonialist creeper-jurisdiction encroachment to serve and to sustain the #Klan😈 🤔📢 In their #Apartheid regime, NONE of OUR Children SHOULD have credible inspiration to build their own greatest nations, ones that better American HEGEMONY. By definition, the "rest" should just live subserviently in an invisible "Cage of Democracy" under the #USKlan hegemon franchise. As for the obedient "like-minded" vassals, Cage Free options available. #AmericanPeople SHOULD understand what their rogue corrupt politicians are actually doing to the rest of the world (96% of World). Dangerous time as #US #House is now hijacked by rogue corrupt elements. Dr. Evil & Villains now in charge. 🤔 Connecting the dots: #Klan is reembarking on the same path in Asia Australasia (Project "Indo-Pacific") deploying its #militaryindustrialcomplex and long weaponised immoral #msm. Why Asia Australasia? The reRising of #China #ASEAN, then #India/#SouthAsia are "threats" in their parasitic ZeroSum mindsets. #Japan & #Korea effectively coerced into the #Klan thus Nato Asia HQ is to be at #Tokyo. #Klan members are key members in #AUKUS and #Quad all according to the playbook. #NZ, Japan & Korea are being coerced to join #AUKUS to extend Empire's proxywar power into peaceful Asia Australasia. #Australia risks becoming regional HQs of #militaryindustrialcomplex - perils to Australasia. It is all about keeping the bloody profitable #ProxyWars from US mainland, seamlessly. The Decade Grand Scheme of migrating Japanese & Korean manufacturing and funding in war machines industry down under to be supported by Indian engineers and manpowers had commenced. The "like-minded" target shall be, of course, "China". Russia is "too close" to West. The World should look far deeper into case of #JulianAssange, one of true journalists dared to expose the criminal conducts of the US government & illicit operatives. We won't expect #JulianAssange to win any Nobel Prize but he is already #Hero in our Free World. #freejulianassange #humanity #UNSECURITYCOUNCIL https://lnkd.in/gjsRikby

Advocate for a globally competitive #AUSTRALIANFUSIONENERGYINDUSTRY with strategic communications expertise.
Best invest in Building and talking about Fusion power, space, maritime propulsion systems and industry as data centres are. Great Headline, Guardian on Nuclear fission. https://lnkd.in/g8sMZtpR People talk about Nuclear (meaning Fission) and fail to discuss fusion. https://lnkd.in/ge_aeX7M The nuclear fission industry is ignorant of what's happening around it. It must pull its collective uranium heads out of the sand and prepare to enter the commercially growing fusion energy industry. Fission is moving towards obsolescence at an ever-increasing pace, as it is "out of step, out of time, out of place, and soon to be out of Fuel" and merely temporary. https://lnkd.in/gbd_mZqk By 2028, Helion is expected to start producing electricity from its first fusion commercial power plant, which will provide electricity to Microsoft. The plant will produce at least 50 MWe after an initial ramp-up period. https://lnkd.in/gY9J3MQY Now, see what is happening in the world of the fusion industry. https://lnkd.in/g9hMBD7a As fission trebles, fuel shortage is increasingly real, https://lnkd.in/gze5rwpr
