Exciting news for the Hamlet of Thorhild and MD of Bonnyville! Crews are hard at work on the Fiber to the Home project, bringing direct connections to approximately 250 homes and businesses through MCSnet's fiber network. 🏡💻 Thanks to additional broadband grant funding from the Universal Broadband Fund, MCSnet can expand our network and provide even more reliable internet access to these communities. CEO Jerico VanBrabant shares, "Building Fiber to the Home will make these communities scalable for future technologies and add another layer of internet reliability." Not only will residents in Thorhild benefit from this project, but other areas like Crane Lake, Aspen Grove Subdivision, Riverbend Subdivision, Whitetail Ridge Estates, and rural properties east of Cold Lake will also receive fiber connections. With the combination of fiber and new wireless technologies like GigAir, more customers will have access to gigabit speeds. Read about the progress of the Hamlet of Thorhild build and look forward to the MD of Bonnyville projects coming in 2025. The future of internet connectivity in these communities is looking brighter than ever! Gaining the public trust is not easy, but it's possible with tangible results. We recently completed a 13-mile fiber expansion project in California, resulting in over $100,000 saved in tax-funded fees for the public agency client. In addition, we reduced utility research and planning time by 95%. This means that the $100,000 in saved funds can now be allocated to advancing the delivery of additional fiber networks, faster. This is how you gain the public trust – by delivering results, not empty promises. The 4M Analytics 'Map-My-Town' program is now available for your local cities, municipalities and public agencies in Texas and California, with more states coming soon. -Press On! #publictrust #utilitymapping #fiberexpansion

It may be counterintuitive to look to the rivers and seas to affordably deploy fiber, but “near shore” deployment of fiber provides a way to deliver broadband to towns and communities that in some ways can be easier than dry land deployments. For more information on the fascinating world of near shore fiber deployment, check out the latest Fiber for Breakfast below. ⬇️ https://buff.ly/3viAWwL

ICYMI: Utility Safety Partners recently awarded our construction team as the provincial "Excavator of the Year." Our success in Western Canada, building more fiber in rural communities than any other company, is a clear signal that we're not just participating in the market—we're leading it. Our thanks go to "Professor" Ignatious Rozario and David McLeod for representing us and showcasing our commitment to innovation, community service, and safety. At Canadian Fiber Optics and Northern Lights Fiber, we're driven by a mission to "Connect All Within Our Reach." We take this very seriously, and our focus on deploying #fiber infrastructure is not just about delivering high-speed internet; it's about empowering communities to thrive in today's digital age. Where other #telecom industry partners see limitations to actual fiber deployment and construction in #rural areas, we have seen only tremendous possibilities. Our success in Western Canada, building more fiber in rural communities than any other company, is a clear signal that we're not just participating in the market—we're leading it. Our achievements are the direct result of our leadership, innovative team, and the support of communities that believe in our mission. #digitaldivide

#FundsAllocation We determine the maintainable part of the network because we cannot allocate money to networks that cannot be maintained. If a road has completely broken down and it requires reconstruction or rehabilitation, we don’t consider it for funding. At that stage, it becomes a different project that should be considered under a different funding stream. #RoadMaintenanceUg ⏬Find out what your area received for Q4 FY 2023/24 road maintenance.https://https://lnkd.in/dGSY2xhS
