Congratulations to all graduates, and… I am glad to share that I graduated with honors from William James College, earning a Masters, Organizational Psychology with a specialization in Organizational Development and Change. This complements the Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching (GCEC) in Leadership Psychology earned here in 2022. These new learnings, disciplines, and adaptive leadership skills have shaped my journey and allow me to bring forward a new dimension in my life’s work. It was this powerful potential and the school’s reputation and commitment to experiential learning that led me to William James College in 2021 to build this new dimension. A few highlights from this journey include: - Inducted in Psi Chi Honor Society, 4.0 GPA - Developed a set of adaptive leadership skills, use-of-self, for organizational diagnostics, design, intervention, transformation and change management to build character, work with people, teams, and organizations in a more powerful way. - Expanded an invaluable network of people, including students, seasoned professionals, advisors, and company founders within the coaching, consulting, business development and high technology space. As a leader, learner, continuing my education and growth journey and earning this second master's degree (RPI 1996) has been a personal goal and commitment. My advice for those on their own learning journey is one day, one assignment at a time. Finally, thank you to my family, friends, instructors, cohort(s), and network who inspired me, stretched me, and expanded my thinking. Especially want to thank Dr. Darlene M. Piva, MA, PsyD, Lynne D. Richer, EdD, GPHR, Dr. Miranda Lane, LPsyD, LCMHC, Ara Haroutiounian and Suzanne Boulos at William James College. You have walked along side with me, and for that I am grateful. Now, I am prepared, and energized for what’s next, and new beginnings with learning, new experiences, and more to give. #WilliamJamesCollege #organizationalpsychologist #newbeginnings #trusttheprocess #culturechange #transformation #leadership #allyship #coaching #consulting #mindset

In an era where honesty and integrity can seem scarce in our daily news, it’s reassuring to see these values being instilled in future leaders. By empowering students to govern themselves through a 100% student administered honor code, institutions like Harvey Mudd College are fostering communities built on trust and accountability - not just as policy, but as a fundamental part of society. We need more of this. #values #education #leadership
The honor code is a foundational part of the culture of Harvey Mudd College. But over the last couple of years the COVID pandemic, remote school, and the loss of cultural patterns have weakened it. This week I spend some time thinking about why it's worth saving and how we should start. From my seat as a faculty member, I want to see the honor code thrive, along with the educational culture it enables. Here's what I think we should start and stop doing: 🛑 Stop 1️⃣ Asking students to be responsible for reporting their peers. 2️⃣ Burdening students with the responsibility to uphold the honor code process on their own. 3️⃣ Leading with punishment ✅ Start 1️⃣ Reminding students that their studies are not just about what they learn, but who they become. 2️⃣ Explicitly communicating the benefits that a classroom filled with integrity enables. 3️⃣ Frequently engaging students in conversation about the honor code. Link to the full piece over on my Substack today (link in bio). 💬 Got a comment? I'd love to hear it.

How often do you consider what you need to remove/quit/stop doing so that you can focus on what's most important? Why is it so easy to add and so difficult to take away/quit things in our lives? Check out these nuggets of wisdom and encouragement shared by Tanner Moore and let her know what you think!
“When faced with difficult decisions, we are often terrible quitters." Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to give a ProSales Talk to an audience of over 150 students, faculty members, and judges. I chose to explore the difficult—and often controversial—topic of quitting in a society where we tend to overextend ourselves. Many of us stay in certain roles or situations out of obligation, but I encourage you to reassess your WHY and “go for the great” in the areas that genuinely serve you. Thank you to the Baylor University - Center for Professional Selling for providing this platform and to Sandy Weissinger and Andrea Dixon, Ph.D. for their dedication in making this event possible.
