Congrats to Intuitive Machines!!! Now I will say what they can't.
The current successful NASA programs supporting commercial Lunar activities should become the central driving factor of a re-imagined Artemis 2.0, with #Artemis 1.0 soon to be scrapped. In such a case, the architecture of this study would change dramatically. This change should start now, rather than spending money on a result that may well be obsolete when completed. Step one is instead of than contractors telling NASA their ideas as to how to expand a NASA research facility, NASA/USG should be asking what it can do to support the private sector - for example, as an anchor tenant, purchaser of data, and supporter of tech development as it pursues its more pure science and exploration goals. In other words, the appropriate role for a government research and science agency. Time for change people. Long overdue. This is the moment.

On-orbit servicing, assembly, and manufacturing (OSAM/ISAM) is rapidly expanding, playing a crucial role in space logistics. Successful OSAM can extend satellite lifespans, refuel spacecraft for deep space missions, and assemble large structures in space, paving the way for sustainable space exploration and reducing reliance on Earth's supply chain logistics.
Negar Feher (Orbital Outpost X), Marion Andrieux (Infinite Orbits), Sébastien Duménil (Exotrail) and Thomas Carroll (Northrop Grumman) discuss the possible measures (by the government defense, and civil sector) that can be taken today to boost the commercial space sector’s capacity to deliver services, enhance mobility, and support logistics for not only national security space during times of competition, conflict, and crisis; but also boost sustainability for the commercial sector.

As maritime traffic continues to swell, particularly in busy areas like China’s coastal waters, the need for effective navigation solutions has never been more pressing. This innovative approach, known as the WTG model, combines wavelet transform, temporal convolutional networks (TCN), and gated recurrent units (GRU) to enhance the accuracy of ship path predictions.

What is the significance of Starship? I compare it to when the transcontinental railroads opened in the US. You must get on the railroad if you were headed west. It’s stupid not to. The value added is in services to get from the railroad stops to your actual destination. In this case from LEO Starship drop offs to your desired orbit.
