Guys don't be applying for jobs outside of your country. Before you get mad at me, I'm getting a lot of job seekers from different countries attempting to apply for a job outside of their country. Most recruiters/hiring managers will only accept candidates in their country due to the following reasons: - Companies need to sponsor you since you don't have legal status in that country. They can hire locally for a role instead of hiring internationally. - Relocation fees are expensive and could require additional paperwork to obtain a work visa for candidates - You're not in the country so the organization may think you're not fully committed to the job and can't commute to the office Instead, you should be focusing on applying for jobs in your country. The only time I've seen folks get hired outside of their country unless it's a Virtual Assistance role or a role where you're an independent contractor/1099 worker. Let me know if you apply for a job outside of your country. Do you only apply for roles within your country? What advice would you give a jobseeker who looking for a job? #linkedin #hiring #international #jobseekers #jobs

By March 2009, the GFC was in full swing. Here I was, having just started a role with Abraxus, which Randstad promptly took over. I was working for Mark Godfrey as a Resourcer, turning over the Sydney Java market on a monthly basis; we had zero jobs to fill Thursday night, I had my job, Friday morning I was let go. I was in a bit of a pinch, to say the least: ▶️The recruitment market was dead ▶️I was on a 457 Visa and had 30 days to leave the country ▶️Financial Markets technology was the worst place to be working Randstad were offering to pay for my flights back to the UK, it would have been easy to get on a plane home. I opted for the hard path: 🔰I decided that no, I was going to fight and look for a new role. 🔰I had 30 days to find a role, interview and obtain sponsorship Mark was great, though; he referred me to some of his competitors on the Macquarie account. He believed in me. One of those competitors was Phil Jostsons at Vantage. 👍Phil interviewed me and took a punt, offered me a role when not much was happening in the market and offered me sponsorship. The rest is history, as they say. Doing the easy things doesn't result in growth. Doing the hard things does. Picture from the 2008 Abraxus Christmas party: we went out on a yacht on the harbour, and I smashed Joe Ward/ in a swimming race. --------------- I post regularly on LinkedIn and help people secure their next career opportunity Follow me here if you want more content on: ⚡Career Transition ⚡Interview Advice ⚡Job Search Strategies ---------------- #careeradvice #careerguidance #takeoffcc

Applying for jobs with visa restriction is extra harder than simply getting a rejection, I was once clearly told application is automatically rejected if you say no to working status eligibility question. Yet among 100+ recruiters or TA Specialists I have interacted with who often ghosted me, no matter it's in person, through phone calls, emails, LinkedIn, Sameer Murtaza from Skyscanner is definitely a 🌟 stellar 🌟 in terms of the recruitment. He not only kept a transparent and responsive communication throughout 2+ months with countless emails even I was not invited for interview, but also initiated an informative follow-up call at the end of recruitment cycle to explain the considerations, some recruitment insights and other questions I asked. All his efforts and dedication might be considered unnecessary or time-wasting if it could have been a rejection email, but the way he going extra miles to offer advice is impressively assuring and truly delightful to my journey than many recruiters would even think of. For every candidate or professional, Sameer is surely someone we are more than happy to build a long-term connection with beyond the current recruitment. Many thanks! I also greatly appreciate very detailed feedback and seamless application processes, communication I received from Cambridge University Press & Assessment and Cambridge Judge Business School, which tremendously enable me to refine my skills and navigate through a tough adventure of career progression. There're many other colleagues, professionals, mentors, seniors I am lucky to know in my career who are willing to offer solid guidance without expecting anything in turn. I am genuinely grateful to all of you! #jobapportunity #recruitment #carrergrowth #professionaldevelopment #professionalcommunication #application #talentacquisition

#Hiring #Recruitment #JobSearch #InternationalCandidates #VisaSponsorship #JobSeeker #TransparencyInHiring #InclusiveHiring #LinkedInCommunity #TalentAcquisition Dear Hiring Teams, I hope this message finds you well. As a dedicated job seeker, I wanted to share a challenge that many international candidates, including myself, face during our job search. We often apply to numerous positions without knowing if the roles are open to international candidates or if sponsorship is available. This uncertainty can make the process time-consuming and disheartening. It would be incredibly beneficial if job postings could clearly indicate whether the position is open to international candidates and whether visa sponsorship is offered. This small adjustment could significantly streamline the process for both candidates and recruiters, ensuring that applicants who meet all the necessary criteria apply. Your consideration of this suggestion could greatly enhance the efficiency of the hiring process and make a meaningful difference for many job seekers. Thank you for your understanding and for helping to create a more transparent and inclusive job market.

Reflecting on My Job Search Journey 🌟 Recently, I had an interview at a school that initially seemed promising. However, despite my qualifications and experience, I was informed that my visit visa status was a barrier to employment. While disappointed, this experience has highlighted a crucial issue in our hiring processes. It's disheartening to encounter obstacles like visa status when seeking opportunities. I believe in the importance of evaluating candidates based on their skills, qualifications, and potential contributions rather than their immigration status. Everyone deserves a fair chance to showcase their talents and make meaningful contributions to organizations. This experience has reinforced my commitment to advocating for inclusive hiring practices. Let's work together to create environments where talent and potential are valued above all else. #JobSearch #InclusiveHiring #DiversityandInclusion #VisaChallenges #ProfessionalDevelopment
