We can't get enough of them 🍓, do we? But... In striving to produce healthy #berries for consumers, preserve the soil, and sell a high-quality yield, growers face many challenges. Among them are increasing consumer demand for berries, high pesticide use, climate change, and different policies, that impact production in various countries. #Trapview is helping berry growers monitor 𝑫𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒐𝒑𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒂 𝒔𝒖𝒛𝒖𝒌𝒊𝒊, also called the spotted wing drosophila or #SWD. We started the monitoring season in #strawberries and will soon continue in #blueberries. #CropProtection #PestManagement #PestMonitoring #FoodProduction

Today and everyday we celebrate the ‘International Day of Plant Health 2024'; this year under the theme 'Save Plants- Save Planet', because healthy plants mean a healthy planet Did you know that 80% of our food and 98% of the oxygen we breathe come from plants? Yet, these life-sustaining resources face threats from pests and diseases that are exacerbated by international travel, trade, and climate change. Regenerative agriculture coupled with embracing innovation, research and collaborative efforts play a vital role at naturally and sustainably addressing pest control, boosting #biodoversity, while maintaining plant health and enhancing disease resilience in crops - in turn, safeguarding foodsecurity Source & image: CGIAR #goumbook #changingmindsets #regenerativeagriculture #planthealth

We need to overcome the apparently increasing polarisation between farmers/food production and environmentalists/biodiversity. We absolutely need both! Good article here: https://lnkd.in/ewMqvb2Y

Really!!! Then, this competition should be changed. To get more subsidy will be the game strategy to be a winner. However, as a Certified Food Scientist, regardless of this game strategy, I will continuously make more efforts of mine to develop more delicious "the second generation plant-based meats". This is my strategy. Follow me if you like my strategy. #plantBasedMeat
If we took meat industry subsidies away, plant-based would win on price by a large margin (60% cheaper in fact) Love this analysis by Lynette Kucsma. It’s worth shouting louder about! 🔊 Imagine what we could do for societal and planetary health if we gave plant-based products the same level of subsidies as the meat industry! 🌎 Original post and sources here: https://lnkd.in/eFqtcRNr #sustainablefoodsystem #plantbased #proteinwende #proteinshift #alternativeproteins #foodforthought
