The AI digestion phase seems to be here for $MSFT. On 1/3/25, Microsoft posted in a blog expectations of $80B in capex in FY25 (Jun) to support AI & cloud. While up 44% vs FY24, it implies slightly negative growth 1H:CY25 vs 2H:CY24 given $20B in CQ3 & guidance of an increase for CQ4. But this is good for their own future cash flow and ROI which suffered last year. This contributed to the stock being up just 12% vs the S&P gain of 23% in 2024. Suppliers to Microsoft which benefitted last year should see the headwinds this year.

1. Microsoft posted 16% YoY revenue growth, with Azure + Cloud services up 33%, highlighting strong AI demand. 2. Despite these numbers, the share price dropped 3.71% in after-hours trading. 3. The dip could be due to weaker guidance for next quarter, forecasting just 10.6% revenue growth. 4. This guidance hints at a possible slowdown in Azure + Cloud growth—Microsoft’s key driver and a core theme in the AI space. Join my Telegram for more investment updates: https://t.me/realDrWealth
