#todayinsight: The top 10 most valuable unicorns as of October 24 Despite recent increases in valuation for generative artificial intelligence leader OpenAI and Elon Musk's aerospace venture SpaceX, ByteDance remains the highest-valued unicorn in the world. As reported by CB Insights, the Chinese parent company of TikTok boasts a staggering valuation of $225 billion, surpassing SpaceX's valuation of $200 billion and OpenAI's latest figure of $157 billion. Earlier recently, OpenAI secured $6.6 billion in new funding, nearly doubling its previous valuation of $80 billion from prior rounds. The rest of the top-ranking companies include players from various sectors, such as apparel (Shein and Fanatics), fintech (Stripe and Revolut), and software (Databricks). While OpenAI and Databricks are primarily focused on AI, ByteDance has also intensified its efforts in generative artificial intelligence. In line with Western tech giants like Meta and Alphabet, ByteDance launched a series of large language models branded as Doubao earlier this May, further solidifying its position as the leading unicorn globally. #globaltrade #globaleconomy Source: Statista https://lnkd.in/dKGJ23UR

#OpenAI recently raised the largest venture capital round in history ($6.6 billion), while Mark Zuckerberg has said #Meta will spend up to $65 billion on AI projects this year. Tech giants have been spending heavily on AI, and now it looks like a giant waste. #DeepSeek’s latest R1 model, released on Jan. 20, was built with just $6 million in raw computing power and inferior AI chips, a fraction of the money and resources spent by firms like OpenAI and Alphabet Inc.’s Google. https://lnkd.in/ejK4V_it

#genai continues to move major #venturecapital dollars with Elon Musk's xAI pulling in a whopping $6B for 1/4 of the company - with only 10 months into its existence. Musk's reputation and success with his ventures is obviously enough to open up the treasure chests with seemingly unlimited funds. It will be interesting to see how this fight for market share evolves with the other big ones in the market, predominantly OpenAI and its close ties to Microsoft, Google and Meta. #generativeai #ai 18

Elon Musk is planning to go all-in for the AI war with his own AI! Recently, the renowned owner of Tesla and SpaceX announced his next big plan: to launch his own AI software and compete aggressively with existing AI giants like OpenAI, Microsoft, and Alphabet. Musk's AI startup, xAI, recently received $6 billion in its Series B round from investment firms such as Sequoia Capital, Fidelity, Vy Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, and even Saudi Arabia's Prince Now, do you know what's the scary part? This $6 billion funding already makes it the second most valuable AI company in the world, valued at $24 billion, even before xAI introduces its first product to the market. With Musk's history of feuding with Sam Altman, whom he sued in March, and his accusations of coding bias at Google, one thing is certain: we are all about to witness the next phase of the AI revolution. Let me know what you think about it and your views! #AI #SaaS #Venturecapital #investment #elonmusk
