The concern is that this anticipated growth depends on India's readiness to address the EU's ESPR regulations and DPP requirements, as these will significantly impact exports in the garments and textile sector. The EU is India's second largest customer. I am deeply concerned about the effects these regulations will have on the industry, based on my discussions with government officials and my nearly nine years of experience working with textile mills in India. India’s readymade garments exports saw an 11-per cent YoY growth in August, the textiles ministry said. The domestic textile sector is expected to grow to $350 billion by 2030, it noted. Investment worth over ₹90,000 crore is expected to flow through the PM MITRA Park and the Production-Linked Incentive Scheme in the next three to five years. #Fibre2Fashion #f2f #apparel #textile #fashion #textileindustry #f2fnews Read more here: https://lnkd.in/d8HsdN9C

India's garment industry receives a boost! The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) recognizes India as a preferred apparel sourcing destination, citing political stability as a key factor. US buyers favor India for high-value and fashion items due to its reliability. Challenges with the industry: - High labor costs - Small production units - Costly logistics - Limited capacity for manufacturing man-made fiber (MMF) garments Despite these hurdles, India excels in cotton-based garments. The industry must address these challenges to capitalize on this opportunity and increase its market share. #garmentexports #USmarket #competitiveness #internationaltrade #fashionexports #indiantextiles #makeinindia"

India's garment industry is poised for growth as U.S. brands seek politically stable partners. According to the U.S. ITC, American buyers prefer sourcing high-value apparel from India over less stable regions. This confidence boosts order potential for Indian manufacturers, who are ready to cater to increasing demand. Despite capacity challenges, the industry remains optimistic about expanding its share in the global apparel market. The textile industry is seeing signs of recovery, with global retailers and brands reporting that their inventory levels have returned to pre-COVID standards, a recent report of Avendus Spark observed. However, it highlights a cautious outlook on demand as garment companies await a boost in order book momentum. This cautious optimism suggests that the order cycle may remain shorter than usual for the foreseeable future.”Garment companies are still awaiting a revival in order book momentum,” the report added. Expanding MMF capabilities is essential to diversify and enhance market competitiveness. India's increasing credibility in apparel sourcing is a significant positive development. While political stability boosts confidence among US buyers, addressing high labour costs, small production units, and limited MMF capacity will be crucial for maximizing growth and market share. This recognition offers a valuable opportunity for the industry to innovate and overcome these challenges, securing a stronger position in the global market.
📢 The Good News for the garment industry in India! The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) has highlighted India’s growing credibility as a preferred apparel sourcing destination. The report cites India’s political stability as a crucial factor for US-buyers, making the country a reliable choice for apparel production and delivery. As per the Business Standard story the report says “Brands are more willing to source high-value or fashion items from India compared to less politically stable countries, as they are confident they will be able to produce and receive their products." As per Business Standard "While the report praises India's competitiveness, particularly in cotton-based garments, it also outlines key challenges for the industry. High labour costs, small production units, and costly logistics hinder scalability. Additionally, the limited capacity for manufacturing man-made fibre (MMF) garments restricts India's growth potential, with some brands perceiving the country as overly specialised in cotton products." Hope the industry able to make the best of this opportunity and work on the challenges at hand to improve its market share. India’s Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) is preparing a growth strategy to realise the true potential of the ready-made garment (RMG) sector and achieve exports to the tune of $40 billion by 2030. Speaking on the strategy, Sudhir Sekhri, chairman AEPC, stated, “India’s apparel exports have the unique distinction of having minimal import dependence. With the advantage of being amongst the largest producers of all kinds of fibre—natural and manmade—and having an abundant young workforce, India has all the ingredients to build an unparalleled ecosystem from fibre to fashion. This potential can be harnessed to uplift the underprivileged section of our society and also give a huge boost to women empowerment through employment and skilling.” Read the full story: https://buff.ly/44FkQKX Piyush Goyal (मोदी का परिवार) Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India Ministry of Commerce and Textile Industry Trade Promotion Council of India FEDERATION OF INDIAN EXPORT ORGANISATIONS The Clothing Manufacturers Association Of India (CMAI) EPCH India HEPC India Darshana Jardosh WWEPC INDIA TEXPROCIL - The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council Sudhir Sekhri Mithileshwar Thakur #apparelexport #textilesexport #textilenews #apparelnews

The ready-made garments (RMG) sector is expected to see a significant uptick in export demand throughout the year. This is largely driven by Western retailers’ restocking efforts and heightened interest in spring-summer collections. Additionally, anticipated interest rate cuts in the US are poised to further stimulate demand for Indian garments. Stable cotton prices and a consistent supply chain will enhance India’s cost competitiveness on the global stage.
