India's Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector is poised for significant growth in the coming years. Currently numbering around 6.3 crore, the sector is expected to expand to approximately 7.5 crore enterprises, reflecting a projected Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 2.5%. As of March 2024, over 4 crore MSMEs are registered on the Udyam portal, including the Udyam Assist Platform (UAP), underscoring the sector's robust participation in formal economic channels. The sector has also seen substantial financial support, with gross bank credit deployed under priority sector lending to MSMEs reaching US$ 279.18 billion as of October 2023. This marks a notable 22.8% increase from the previous year and an 11.8% rise from September 2023, highlighting the growing financial resilience and support for MSMEs in India.
