I have officially reached the halfway point of my summer internship at Capital Group. I am enjoying the experience and delighted to have developed a greater understanding of the lifecycle of the investment process and how each team is vital to the overall process. I have been impressed at how genuinely friendly and welcoming everyone has been at Capital Group, one of CG’s core values is “Community: we approach all that we do with care, respect and thoughtful consideration for each other”, this has been evident in all my interactions. Another core value I have witnessed in the way teams work is “Client focus, we are grounded in the responsibility to fulfil the needs of our clients around the world” This is demonstrated by the follow-the-sun model, the Singapore, London and LA offices, all working collaboratively to deliver outstanding results for our clients. One important piece of advice that I will cherish, is that to always have front of mind, that we are working for our clients, to enable them to achieve their financial goals through successful investing. A few highlights of my internship so far would be: 1. The fantastic Capital community’s events, I attended a Lunch and Learn session educating us on the impactful work the charity Sense International does in supporting people with combined DeafBlindness to live, learn and thrive. 2. As a strong believer in giving back, I participated in a great volunteering event through, the “Capital Cares” program, for a Teach First event in which children from a local secondary school visited the office to learn more about Capital Group and the Investment Management industry. I particularly enjoyed the stock pitch the children came up with. 3. I am excited to deliver and present my assigned project. It’s been great conducting primary research in this area and gaining a deeper insight into the type of work an analyst conducts. I’d like to thank everyone for making this a brilliant experience, in particular, my buddy Sasha Stepanec and managers Nick Donnelly and Tom Wigfall for their continuous support. Thank you to Capital Group and The 10,000 Interns Foundation for providing this opportunity. It has been an amazing experience so far and I look forward to the remainder of my internship! #CapitalGroup #SummerInternship #InternshipExperience #London #Finance #ClientFocus #SuccessfulInvesting

Hello All, This summer of 2024, I secured an internship at Akshay Vardhaman Services, a investment fund specializing in investments in SME companies, both in the secondary market and the pre-IPO segment. The one-month period I have spent here has been incredibly learning-intensive and has expanded my understanding of investments. Transitioning from an engineering to a finance background was always a period of self-doubt for me, but during the internship, I realized that my engineering knowledge turned out to be highly beneficial for making technology-related investments. It helped me navigate and understand the business offerings and assess whether the company we were considering investing in would have future demand for its products or services. I immersed myself in the world of SME companies, where you must build conviction based on the story, management, and future plans of the company. This aspect often outweighs the numbers because, at a nascent stage, the numbers might not fully justify the problem the company is addressing. Moreover, the highlight of the internship was exploring the realm of pre-IPO investments, having meetings with promoters in their factories or offices, and understanding the business alongside them. With this experience and the knowledge I have gained during this period, I wish to continue my journey of "Utilizing Tech Knowledge to Navigate Investment Decisions." I can't thank CA Harshal Kumat and Sagar Bamb Sir enough for considering me worthy of this opportunity. Onwards and upwards! Best regards, Varun Amol Sanghavi #finance #investments #investmentbanking #capitalmarkets #preipo

Today is International Intern Day. International Intern Day! A day to celebrate the next generation of leaders — our interns! 🎉 This year, we at Beringer have had the pleasure of working with Haris Sheikh, our 2024 Summer Investment Analyst, and we want you to get to know him too. We’re grateful to Haris for his hard work, fresh perspectives, and continuous desire to learn. 7 Questions with Beringer Capital Summer Analyst Haris Sheikh: Q1. What did you want to be when you were a child? A professional soccer player! Real Madrid all the way. Q2. How did you decide on Beringer for your summer internship? I knew someone that had worked at Beringer previously and they had great things to say, but then when I had my interview, I was really drawn in by the culture; everyone was so nice! Q3. The coolest thing about my internship has been_______. Getting to sit with people who run multi-million-dollar businesses, like @Benzinga and learning how they think. Q4. What’s the key learning you’ll take away from your time at Beringer? I’ve learned how to think like a Private Equity Analyst…what to look for in a deal and how the deal evolves over its lifecycle. Also, attention to detail is really important! Q5. You’re a Finance major—do you see yourself being in the Private Equity world as a possible career path? Yes, 100%. I was interested in it before, but this experience really affirmed it for me. Q6: What is your favourite thing about being a part of the Beringer Capital team? The team is incredibly supportive, and the collaborative culture fosters both personal and professional growth. It's inspiring to be part of a group where everyone is passionate about what they do, and where my contributions are valued and recognized. Q7. What’s the most fun thing you’ve done at Beringer this summer? On the social side, they had a welcome event at an Escape Room. I love Escape Rooms—I’ve done 16 of them. I only escaped from 15, though. The one I didn’t get out of was one I did with my parents. 😊 #PrivateEquity #NationalInternDay

Delighted to introduce Moritz Setzer, the newest member of our dynamic team at IEG - INVESTMENT BANKING GROUP! 🤝 Join us in giving him a hearty welcome as he embarks on his journey as an Investment Banking Intern. Below are a few questions for Moritz Setzer: What do you expect from your internship at IEG? 🤔 I joined IEG because of its reputation in the tech M&A sector and the opportunity to work on complex financial transactions with a talented team. Why did you join IEG? 🤗 What excites me most about M&A is the opportunity to support companies in strategic transformations and growth. It's fascinating to see how different firms come together and create synergies that can generate long-term value. What excites you most about M&A? 🤩 M&A is particularly interesting for me because you act as an interface. You look at both sides of the company, buying or selling, and deal with the balance between the two daily. #Internship #InvestmentBanking #Team #TeamIntroduction
