Years ago, I learned a tough lesson about how money can change the dynamics of a relationship. Back then, I was in a relationship where I earned less than my partner. At first, it didn’t seem like a big deal. We were a team—or so I thought. But as time passed, things began to shift. The small acts of kindness were replaced by a tone of dismissal. Decisions that were once mutual now felt like commands. It wasn’t just about money; it was about how power subtly crept into our dynamic. And I’ll admit, my own ego didn’t help either. I was struggling to find my footing, and every argument left me questioning my worth. Looking back, I don’t blame her entirely. We were both navigating a world that equates income with value, and we didn’t know how to handle the shift. This experience taught me that respect and communication are non-negotiable in any relationship. Money should never define who holds the power—it’s just a tool, not the foundation of love or respect. When I was 25, my family wanted me to get married. During those years, I was working hard but barely making any money. Now, I onboard clients every month who pay me in lakhs. Here's what I've learned over these years. Don’t let other people's money stories hold you back from achieving your goals. It doesn't matter what your parents or society told you about money when you were a child. 👉 Because it isn’t necessarily true for you. The truth is that you can shape your life the way you want to. 📍Just because your parents said money was difficult to make doesn’t mean it’s true for you. You need to discard old money thoughts to create a new reality. Just because your parents or relatives went through difficult times doesn't mean it's your script too. What others tell you about money is just their perspective, not the universal truth. You can improve your financial world by deciding to do so, ignoring the noise around you. In 2023, I scaled my business 5X, even though my mom told me I was wrong! I ditched that script, wrote my own beliefs, and my business scaled. Now, I’m thriving. This picture says a lot about 3 categories of people. CATEGORY 1: These are masters of money. They control money. Money doesn't define who they are. They use money to do all sorts of good and still comes back to them in buckets. More importantly, money is only a tool not the dream. They’ve got time for the things that matter most in their lives. CATEGORY 2: They make a lot of money but at the expense of the most important areas of their lives. They are never satisfied and making money is their top priority. They chase money without having a sense of mission or purpose. CATEGORY 3: These are prayer warriors. They can pray so fervently but they lack the action and the right mindset that will move the needle. They lack self awareness and don’t know how to harness the skills they’ve got to improve their financial situation. As we enter into a new week / month, strive to be in category 1.
