"Helping You Get Comfortable With Uncomfortable Using Continuous Improvement To Elevate Performance, Drive Growth, and Inspire Change"
🌟Equity: Creating a Fair and Just World 🌟 🌍✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨🌍 🔹🌟 In a world that strives for equality, it is essential to consider not just equality but also equity. While equality ensures treating everyone the same, equity focuses on understanding and addressing the unique challenges and circumstances individuals face. Let's delve into this topic and explore how promoting equity can create a fair and just society. 🌟🔹 🔸🌟 Equity goes beyond equal opportunities by recognizing and accounting for the structural and systemic barriers that impact disproportionately some groups, such as people of color, women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those with disabilities. It involves redistributing resources, power, and opportunities to level the playing field, ensuring fairness and access to all. 🌟🔸 💡✨ What does equity mean in practice? Here are some key principles to consider: 💡✨ 1️⃣ Addressing historical disadvantages: Acknowledge the long history of systemic discrimination and work towards eliminating the barriers that have hindered certain groups from fully participating and prospering. 2️⃣ Intersectionality: Recognize that individuals may face multiple intersecting forms of discrimination based on their race, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status, or other identities. Addressing these complexities is vital to promoting equity. 3️⃣ Accessibility and Inclusion: Ensure that physical spaces, digital platforms, and services are accessible to everyone, including individuals with disabilities. Foster an inclusive culture that values and respects diverse perspectives. 4️⃣ Representation matters: Promote diversity in decision-making positions, leadership roles, and across industries. Engage with and uplift underrepresented voices to create a more inclusive and equitable workplace. 5️⃣ Education and awareness: Foster learning environments that educate individuals about the historical context of inequalities, biases, and privilege. Promote empathy and understanding to dismantle systemic barriers. 6️⃣ Allyship and advocacy: Actively support and advocate for marginalized groups, using your own privilege and influence to amplify their voices and champion their rights. Remember, equity is a collective responsibility. 🚀✨ Let's strive for equity and create a world where everyone has an equal chance to thrive and succeed. Together, we can build a fair and just society that uplifts and empowers all individuals. 🌟🚀 #EquityMatters #Inclusion #DiversityandInclusion #SocialJustice #Fairness #LevelingthePlayingField #Empowerment #Equality #CreatingChange

📢 #HETTNorth24: Diversity and Inclusion: ""You got an [Ally] in me” Join One HealthTech Manchester in Central Room 7 for a facilitated discussion on allyship. We’ll explore the importance of allies in the workplace, how you can be an ally and some fears about ‘getting it wrong’. An ally is any person that actively promotes and aspires to advance the culture of inclusion through intentional, positive and conscious efforts that benefit people as a whole. This session is aimed suitable for everyone. Everyone has the ability to be an ally as privilege is intersectional - white women can be actionable allies to people of colour, men can be allies to women, cis people can be allies to members of the LGBTQ+ community, able-bodied people can be allies to those with different abilities, economically privileged people can be allies to those who are not and so on. The session will be hosted by Alex Hernandez, Bernadette Clarke and Charlotte Lewis. One HealthTech is a global, distributed, volunteer-led community that exists to drive better equality, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in health innovation. Secure your pass to HETT North (28th February, Manchester Central) to catch this session ➡️https://hubs.la/Q02lbndt0 #Healthcare #DigitalHealth #NHS #HealthTech #Inclusion #Allyship

Chief Strategy Officer, member of the Executive board, | Strategy, innovation, venture capital, public affairs, M&A & Sustainable Construction
As an executive member of the board and a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I’ve witnessed the power of diversity firsthand. Our journey toward a more inclusive workplace has been remarkable, but there’s still work to do. It’s up to all of us to champion equality, challenge biases, and create safe spaces for every individual. In a period when open words of exclusion and discrimination come to light again in a revolting brown wave, it is even more important than ever. The business environment creates powerful communities in which we can fight for justice and equality. The strength of a civilization does not come from its toughest members, it derives from the attention given to the weakest. We have been duly fighting for the presence of women in construction. We have made progress, there is still a lot more to do. But let’s not forget that diversity should not be restricted to parity. People still endure discrimination and bad behaviors because of their origin, their religion, the color of their skin, their sexual orientation… Never since the last world war have those topics of equality and non discrimination been so painfully and obviously at risk. As citizens as well as business leaders, we have the responsibility to make our voice heard on the fact that we want a world of equality and fairness. #Bouygues group, we believe in solidarity and the fact that our global business is at first a formidable human adventure. At #Bouygues Construction, we don’t just build projects, we build for life. That commitment extends beyond our physical structures—it’s about building a community where everyone feels valued and empowered. I cannot thank enough my peers for their behavior. As you can only know it if you have felt it, they cannot measure what it is to come to an ExCo seminar with your husband and feel that respect, warmth and simplicity. A big thank at our CEO #PascalMinault for creating this environment. In a simple and low key way, you are a true role model. Let’s continue breaking down barriers, fostering understanding, and celebrating the unique contributions that each person brings. As we are #Buildingforlife, let’s make one worth it, open, inclusive and respectful. Together, we can build a world where everyone thrives. 🌈✨ #DiversityAndInclusion #InclusiveLeadership #EqualityMatters #BuildingforLife

🚺 From fighting for voting rights to breaking barriers in science, business, politics, and beyond, women have continually shaped our world for the better. Their strength, courage, and determination inspire us all to strive for a more just and inclusive society. 🙅♀️ This year's theme, "Choose to Challenge," urges us to confront biases, stereotypes, and discrimination that hold women back. It's a call to action to create a more equitable world where every woman and girl can thrive, free from oppression and limitations. ♀ As we celebrate International Women's Day, let's not forget the importance of intersectionality. We must uplift the voices of marginalised women, including those from LGBTQ+ communities, women of all ethnicities and races, indigenous women, women with disabilities, and others facing unique challenges. #InternationalWomensDay #FemaleEmpowerment #IWD2024 #ChooseToChallenge #EqualityForAll #MindsetBPS #Psychology #MentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness #MentalHealthMatters #Health #PsychologyFacts #Mindset #Mind #OccupationalPsychology #Work #Business #EmployeeExperience #Depression #Anxiety #SelfCare #Mindfulness #Wellness #BusinessPsychology #WorkPsychology

We are compelled to recognize the outstanding efforts of organizations committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within our communities and workplaces. A recent article from the Human Rights Campaign emphasizes the critical role these advocates play in driving systemic change and promoting social justice. The following organizations are at the forefront of this important work: Advocates for Trans Equality, American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD), Asian Americans Advancing Justice – AAJC, Asians Fighting Injustice, Color Of Change, Family Equality, GLAAD, GLSEN, Human Rights Campaign Foundation, League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), NAACP, National Action Network, National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE), National Organization for Women, National Partnership for Women & Families, National Urban League, National Women’s Law Center, PFLAG National, SAGE, UnidosUS. These organizations not only advocate for marginalized communities but also facilitate critical conversations surrounding workplace inclusion. Their ongoing efforts demonstrate that fostering an inclusive environment is essential for the sustained success of businesses and the communities they serve. As leaders, it is imperative that we engage with and support these initiatives. By actively listening to the perspectives of these organizations, learning from their expertise, and taking actionable steps, we can drive meaningful change within our organizations and beyond. In this critical moment, we must reaffirm our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. By actively supporting the rights of all individuals and fostering inclusive workplaces, we can collectively contribute to a more equitable society. Let us work together to ensure that our organizations not only reflect the diversity of our communities but also serve as models for inclusivity and respect. #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion #SocialJustice #Leadership

As we celebrate Women’s History Month this year with the theme “Women who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion,” and International Women’s Day with the theme, “Inspire Inclusion”, let us honor and celebrate ALL women who are leading the charge with courage , consistency and determination! It is important to recognize women who have fought for equality and justice, and understand the need to eliminate systemic barriers and biases from our society and institutions.
