The value of associations to society can not be overrated.
FSAE, Associations and several of our Members were featured in Florida Trend Media Company's February issue! They did a great write up on the power of associations and the work we do every day to improve the quality of life for all Floridians. Members Keyna Cory, Bennett Napier, MS, CAE, Paul Bebee, Mark Wilson and our very own Hester Ndoja, CAE are featured. Check it out: https://lnkd.in/erHXfJdT

President of the European Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine. Head Deputy for Clinical Affairs at University Rehabilitation Institute (URI) "Soča" Ljubljana
My sincere congratulations to our Scientific Committee Coordinator Xiaolei Hu for moderating last ESPRM webinar and hosting distinguished prof Katharina Stibrant Sunnerhagen. I strongly recommend to listen the recording of the webinar, since it brings us certain new insights which can help to understand the outcome of stroke rehabilitation today. Allow me to tease you with recap of 5 strong messages from my point of view: 1. Registry data and Quality registers are evidently strongest tool to achieve "real-date" information on the health status of population. 2. Social determinants of health have strong impact on outcome of rehabilitation after stroke. 3. Strength of health care system and primary care is of most importance to minimize negative impact factors for stroke outcome. 4. "Deprived life-style" leads to higher mortality and worse functional outcome after stroke. Also we can say: Poverty leads to stroke and stroke leads to poverty. 5. Pre-stroke physical activity and regular exercising leads to higher chance of cognitive preservation after stroke. #rehabilitationmedicine #stroke #QoL

On Friday, a member of our UN Advocacy Team took part in the European regional consultations for the World Congress on Enforced Disappearance. Our intervention highlighted: ➡️ The widespread pushbacks and disappearances of people on the move across Europe, as documented by our member organizations. ➡️ The patterns of concealment used by state authorities to obscure the fate and whereabouts of people on the move during pushbacks. ➡️ The impact of CED General Comment No. 1 on Enforced Disappearance in the Context of Migration.
Stakeholders from Europe shared experiences & recommendations for collective action in 4th regional consultation to prepare for 2025 🌎World Congress on Enforced Disappearances #WCED. 🙏 Many thanks to all participants for their insights on CED Convention & fight against ED !
