We have had many clients over the years diagnosed with both BPD and CPTSD. Many diagnosed with BPD find the diagnosis traumatic and extremely hard to accept. Versus those with CPTSD who understand ‘it’s not their fault’. More research and money is needed to help clinicians, the public and clients understand and define these diagnosis’s. What do you think? What has your experience been of this? Would re defining the diagnosis change outcomes and treatment? #bpd #cptsd #dbt #research #mentalhealth #theguardian #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthweek #diagnosis #dialecticalbehavioraltherapy #treatment

Reminder: There is no one-size-fits-all solution for managing a vestibular disorder. Diagnosing and managing the symptoms of a vestibular disorder requires a multidisciplinary approach that involves the expertise of several healthcare professionals. Some people can get a diagnosis quickly but struggle to find a treatment that works. Some spend years trying to figure out what's causing their dizziness, then eventually get diagnosed, treated, and are back on their feet. Many in our community experience a constantly changing relationship to symptoms and our health. Find clinicians and professionals near you at vestibular.org.

Important insights from our CMO, Dr. @Aron Tendler, on the role of accessibility in PTSD treatment. Take a moment to read his latest piece in @MedCity News.
According to GrayMatters Health’s CMO Dr. Aron Tendler, while the debate around MDMA-AT for PTSD primarily focused on concerns of safety and efficacy, accessibility – its widespread use and access to patients - was largely overlooked. “While rejection of MDMA-AT was a disappointment for many, its limited accessibility made the setback less significant than it was portrayed to be.” Read his latest commentary via MedCity News and learn more about why accessibility is one of the three core pillars of all successful and viable medical treatments: https://lnkd.in/gGaQUfN7

The ACEs Aware Initiative is a first-in-the-nation effort to screen patients for risk of toxic stress by assessing for exposure to Adverse Childhood Experiences, or ACEs. What is truly innovative about ACEs Aware is that it’s providing clinicians with the training to not only screen and identify, but it’s also helping teams understand that toxic stress is a health condition that is an underlying driver for some patients’ chronic medical, mental health and behavioral health conditions. Addressing the ROOT CAUSE with evidence-based, trauma-informed care is key to improving quality, reducing cost and breaking the intergenerational cycle of trauma and adversity. ACEs Aware is revolutionizing clinical practice by creating a trauma-informed system of care for millions of patients. If you are a provider in California and have completed the training, I would love to hear about your experiences.
