I am a little late but a big thanks to Ian Hers, Parisa Jourabchi, PhD, PEng, Zahra Pirani and all the other wonderful folks at the Science Advisory Board for Contaminated Sites organization for organizing a great workshop and conference. I am always amazed at the technical presentations and the unique perspective the workshop brings. This year we heard all about nature based solutions for #ContaminatedSites and talked about the CO2 footprint of our #Remediation projects. I am proud and excited to share that my first paper was published in Environmental Research Letters! I would like to extend my appreciation to my advisor Professor Andres Clarens, Jay Fuhrman, Haewon McJeon, Yang Ou, Bill Shobe, and Scott Doney for all their support. We show that achieving net-zero emission goals for the US will likely see an uneven distribution of carbon dioxide removal across the 50 states, depending on the form of carbon removal technology and regional resources, which in turn means the impacts of carbon removal will be unevenly distributed across the US.
